  • Date: 10.04.2019

Cholelithiasis is one of the most common diseases gastrointestinal tract, in which conglomerates are formed in the gallbladder and ducts. The patient feels unwell and complains with an exacerbation of the disease, when a blockage occurs biliary tract(stasis) or movement of stones (colic).

In acute situations (with blockage of the duct and the development of jaundice), as well as signs of inflammatory or necrotic changes in the wall of the gallbladder (determined by ultrasound), an emergency surgical intervention is necessary. In other cases, it is shown complex therapy, including diet, drinking regimen and general regimen, herbal medicine, use drugs, whose action is aimed at normalizing bile and dissolving stones.

Herbal medicine is one of the branches of medicine based on treatment medicinal plants and preparations from them. Plants are used in different forms(decoctions, infusions, tinctures) and combinations (fees). Their medicinal properties diverse.

Herbal treatment is also used for cholelithiasis and to prevent the formation of calculi.

Before taking herbal medicines, you should visit a doctor for a consultation, because herbal medicine also has contraindications:

  • general serious condition and diseases in severe stages or exacerbations, including acute stage inflammation in the gallbladder.

Under what conditions should patients with cholelithiasis use herbal medicine?

  1. This treatment effective only with cholesterol type stones (detected by ultrasound, on X-rays these stones are not detected, other types of stones cannot be dissolved and removed from the body).
  2. The size of the stone should be less than two centimeters.
  3. There should be no obstacles to the escape of stones and bile (so that there is no spasm of the bladder neck, blockage of the pathways).
  4. Disease duration is no more than three years.

There are several stages in the formation of stones in the gallbladder. These are the chemical, latent and clinical phases. Each of them has its own pathological accents, and it is on them that the effect of treatment is directed.

Each stage of gallstone disease is characterized by its own treatment and its own herbs.

This is the very beginning of the disease, the patient makes no complaints, does not feel any deterioration. In fact, he is not yet sick. But the consistency of bile is already changing, it thickens, its viscosity rises, its release slows down, the rate of release decreases, that is, there is a change in the qualitative and quantitative composition. This phase is quite lengthy - it can take years. Diagnosed by a bile test: it usually shows a reduced amount of bile acids and phospholipids and high level cholesterol.

In this phase, the effect of herbal medicine is aimed at preventing the formation of stones, improving the movement (motility) of the gallbladder and the composition of bile. What are they used for individual herbs or their combination ( herbal preparations).

Method of preparation of the infusion: you need a tablespoon of dried herbs or collecting herbs, pour 200 ml of boiling water, let it brew, strain. It should be taken before meals, 50 ml three times a day.

Herbs:

  • St. John's wort leaves;
  • yarrow, immortelle flowers, rhubarb root (choleretic collection);
  • Dill "umbrellas";
  • shepherd's bag;
  • yarrow leaves, chamomile flowers, calamus root;
  • wormwood, peppermint leaves, buckthorn bark, immortelle flowers.

Treatment should be carried out daily, its duration is from three weeks to a month, especially in autumn and spring, when exacerbations occur most often.

In this phase, there are also no complaints of the patient about the state of health, although the formation of calculi and their further growth have not stopped. The duration of this phase is also quite long. Revealed changes are most often random "surprises".

During this period, medicinal herbs are used to reduce inflammation in the bladder wall, improve the composition and consistency of bile, reduce and dissolve already formed calculi, and prevent the formation of new ones.

Herbs:

  • celandine, sweet clover, chicory root, wormwood, valerian root;
  • bird highlander, hernia smooth, bean pods, corn stalks, bearberry;
  • peppermint leaf, flowers pharmacy chamomile, leaves of medicinal lemon balm;

Infusions from these herbs are used. Take them in equal proportions, count 1 tablespoon of the collection (dry herbs) in a glass of water (200 ml of boiling water). You need to wait until it is infused, strain and take 100 ml twice before meals, usually in the morning and in the evening.

In the latent phase of the disease, medical supervision is already needed and periodic ultrasound studies are desirable, since the size of the leaving pieces of stones in an unfavorable case can close the lumen of the bile duct (the diameter of which is only seven millimeters).

During this period, the patient sometimes feels unwell, disturbed by bouts of hepatic colic. The severity of the patient's condition is determined different methods treatment, up to emergency surgical intervention due to the impossibility of the outflow of bile and the blocked lumen of the duct. In more favorable cases, it is possible to use herbal infusions.

Infusions are also prepared in the ratio of 1 tablespoon of dry herb or collection in a glass of boiling water. They should be drunk 100 ml three times a day before meals.

Herbs:

  • chamomile flowers, calendula inflorescences;
  • stem and leaf of celandine ordinary, peppermint leaf;
  • peppermint leaf, chopped barberry root;
  • immortelle flowers, birch leaf;
  • stems or leaves medicinal smoke(good for colic attacks).

The purpose of using herbs at this stage is to alleviate the pain symptom, reduce the inflammatory process in the bladder wall, and reduce the size of the calculus. This allows you to postpone the moment of the operation or to use both methods of treatment in combination.

  • Milk thistle contains substances that help dissolve cholesterol formations and prevent the formation of new ones. The most studied is silymarin. Its main action is considered to improve the consistency of bile, reduce its viscosity, which improves its outflow.

  • Green tea one of the remedies for relieving gallbladder pain. Rich in active ingredients. These include caffeine and polyphenols, which lower cholesterol in bile, also decreasing its viscosity and facilitating its drainage.

  • Boldo peumus is used as an infusion. It stimulates the production of bile. However, it is contraindicated in case of a large number of stones or their large sizes.
  • Lavender improves rheological properties bile, reduces its viscosity. Applied in the form of an infusion. To prepare it, use the dried flowers of the plant. They take 3 g of them, pour a glass of boiling water, stand for 5-10 minutes, then strain and drink one glass a day.
  • Alfalfa is rich in substances that improve the condition of cells in the wall of the gallbladder and the composition of bile. Available in the following forms: tablets, capsules, extract, tea.
  • Anise for cholelithiasis uses seeds, after crushing them. They have the ability to lyse conglomerates in the gallbladder, and also have a choleretic effect.

  • Peppermint has antispasmodic (which can be used for spasm of the bladder), choleretic effects, helps to clear the gallbladder. Contains terpenes to help dissolve conglomerates. It is taken in the form of tea, tea additives, broth, capsules. The frequency of admission is three times a day. The effectiveness is increased by the addition of honey.
  • Rosemary improves the consistency of bile, reduces its viscosity, and increases fluidity. Applied in the form of a liquid extract or infusion.

  • Calendula contains many carotenoids, proteins, flavonoids, terpenes and saponins. It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, astringent and choleretic effects.

For the prevention of stone formation, medicinal herbs can be used twice a year for two to three weeks. With existing stones, treatment is longer, up to two months, after which cholagogue fees are used. This requires medical supervision and ultrasound control.

Gallstones can be of different sizes, ranging from a tiny grain of sand to a diameter of 5 cm. It is a well-known fact that 70 - 80% of gallstones are composed of hardened cholesterol, which is caused by excess cholesterol in the gallbladder. Other causes are high bilirubin levels and high bile concentration in the gallbladder.

Peppermint stimulates the flow of bile

Beets, cucumber and carrots are the best choices

Follow a strict diet based on fruit and vegetable juices for one or two weeks. Mixed vegetable juice from beets, cucumbers and carrots is a good folk remedy for treating gallstone disease.

Dandelion helps in the excretion of bile from the liver

Dandelion is another very useful plant for the treatment of gallstones. It contains a compound known as taraxacin, which aids in the excretion of bile from the liver. Dandelion also helps detoxify and break down fat stored in the liver. When the liver begins to function properly, it helps the gallbladder to function.

  • Place 1 teaspoon of dried dandelion root in a cup, pour over hot water and cover with a lid. Strain and add honey to taste. Drink this tea two or three times a day for one or two weeks.

Note: For people with diabetes, the use of dandelion is contraindicated.

Cholelithiasis, or cholelithiasis, develops against the background of metabolic disorders in biochemical processes bile formation. The disease is based on changes in the physical and chemical properties of bile, in which the substances contained in it (mainly cholesterol and salts) form crystals, and then large conglomerates. One in ten men and one in five women over the age of 40 living in developed countries face this disease. Regardless of the specific cause of gallstone disease, treatment folk remedies can significantly alleviate the patient's condition.

The development of the disease is based on a change in the viscosity of bile. This can lead to:

  • increased secretion of cholesterol;
  • excessive consumption of foods containing solid fats, cholesterol and sucrose;
  • eating food with low content fiber;
  • hormonal imbalance;
  • hypodynamia;
  • inflammatory diseases Gastrointestinal tract.

On early stages, in the presence of a small number of stones, gallstones are almost asymptomatic. With a further increase in the number and size of calculi and the addition of the inflammatory process, pain and heaviness appear in the right hypochondrium, bitterness in the mouth, nausea and vomiting, yellowness skin... The intensity of these symptoms differs depending on the severity of the process.

If the stone begins to evacuate from the gallbladder, there is emergency- hepatic colic with pronounced pain symptoms, fever, irradiation of pain in the right half of the trunk and arm, sometimes with involvement of the pancreas in the process.

Treatment methods

Treatment with folk remedies for gallstone disease is applicable outside acute attacks... It is based on agents that help dissolve the formed stones, and those that contribute to the outflow of stagnant bile. Taking choleretic drugs in the presence of stones more than 1-2 mm in diameter provokes biliary colic!

Means for dissolving stones

With cholelithiasis, it is useful to drink acidic juices, which can dissolve cholesterol and salt crystals. Take 1 cup of dried crushed sunflower root, pour 3 liters of water. Boil for 5 minutes, cool without removing the roots, store in the refrigerator. Drink 1 liter of broth per day, divided into 3-4 doses. Sunflower roots contain substances that dissolve salt deposits in the body, as well as antispasmodics and anti-inflammatory components.

In a watermelon in high concentration contains potassium salts, lycopene and antioxidants that eliminate excess cholesterol in the blood, on the walls of blood vessels and in bile. Cut the watermelon rind into small pieces, dry in the shade, cover with water - on liter jar crusts 1 liter of water, boil for 30 minutes, drain. Drink 1-2 glasses 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals. For the same purpose, you can eat fresh watermelon daily in season.

Take 10 drops of the tincture, diluted in 200 ml of water, in the morning and in the evening. Calendula in tincture will be healthier than broth for those who simultaneously suffer from gastritis, duodenitis or colitis.

Gallstone disease is a widespread disease of the digestive system, characterized by the formation of stones in the gallbladder.

There may be several reasons for their formation:

  • hereditary predisposition;
  • improper nutrition;
  • physiological disorders of the outflow of bile;
  • changes in hormonal levels;
  • overweight.

The only way to diagnose a disease is instrumental methods: using ultrasound or X-ray examination, as well as computed tomography.

Symptoms of the disease are very scarce and appear only during the movement of stones along the biliary tract (hepatic colic), or when they are blocked (jaundice). Outside the movement of stones, an indirect symptom can only be heaviness in the right side. Blockage of the ducts with stones is an urgent indication for surgery, in other cases it is applied conservative therapy- medicines, herbal medicine, mineral water etc.

Herbs for gallstone disease are an important component of therapy and, sometimes, using only them, you can achieve recovery.

Treatment of gallstone disease with herbs can be aimed both at preventing the formation of calculi in the gallbladder, in case of prerequisites for this or the presence of stones in the past, and at the direct dissolution of stones, if any. Despite the fact that herbal medicine is quite safe, there are certain indications for its use, these are:

  • the presence of only cholesterol stones. This type will be visible on ultrasound, but not visible on X-ray examination... Pigmented, calcareous or mixed stones cannot be lysed;
  • the diameter of the calculus should not be more than 2 cm;
  • the discharge of bile from the gallbladder should not be difficult;
  • the duration of the disease is no more than three years.

Contraindications to herbal medicine are:

  • acute inflammatory diseases of the gallbladder;
  • pregnancy, breastfeeding period;
  • severe somatic diseases, as well as diseases in the acute stage.

In total, three stages are distinguished in the process of calculus formation: chemical, latent and clinical. Treatment of the disease directly depends on the stage of stone formation and is aimed at the main pathological factor in this moment time.

The chemical stage of gallstone disease has no clinical manifestations... It is characterized by an increase in the viscosity of bile, a violation of its evacuation and a change chemical composition... It is possible to determine this stage only after analyzing bile during gastroduodenal examination. In this case, the content of cholesterol will be increased, and the content of acids and phospholipids will be reduced.

The first stage of gallstone disease can last for years, and timely treatment started will avoid the formation of calculi. The main goal of treatment at this stage is to improve the motility of the gallbladder and the rheological properties of bile. For this, various herbal preparations or individual plants can be used.

All the herbs presented below are brewed according to the same scheme: a tablespoon of the dried collection is poured with a glass of boiling water, insisted, filtered and consumed before meals, or on an empty stomach, 50 ml each. 3 times a day:

  • choleretic tea (immortelle flowers, rhubarb roots, yarrow);
  • "Umbrellas" of dill;
  • a mixture of peppermint leaves, wormwood, immortelle flowers, buckthorn bark;
  • a mixture of chamomile flowers, calamus root, yarrow leaves;
  • shepherd's purse grass;
  • St. John's wort leaves.

Treatment with infusions is used for up to three weeks at regular intervals in the autumn-spring period.

Latent stage of stone formation

At this stage of gallstone disease, the formation and growth of stones occurs, while the patient does not notice any symptoms. Often the presence of stones in the gallbladder is an accidental finding during preventive examinations... The duration of this period can be calculated in decades. Treatment in this case is possible only if all indications and contraindications are taken into account.

For herbal medicine in the latent stage, herbs and preparations are used that relieve inflammation of the gallbladder wall, improve rheological and Chemical properties bile, as well as acting directly on the calculus, reducing its size, and sometimes lysing completely.

For resorption of stones, the following infusions of collections of herbs, taken in equal proportions, prepared at the rate of 1 tablespoon per glass of boiling water, can be used:

  • a mixture of celandine herb, chicory root, valerian root, sweet clover, wormwood;
  • a mixture of knotweed herb, corn stalks, bean pods, hernia smooth, bearberry;
  • leaves of lemon balm, peppermint, chamomile flowers;
  • oregano and heather herb;
  • trellis watch leaves, valerian roots, peppermint leaves, yarrow flowers.

Infusions of 100 ml are accepted. 2 times a day before meals.

Despite the relative safety of such therapy, crushed stones can cause significant harm to the body. Bile duct no more than 7 mm in diameter, thus, all stones of the same size and larger can block the duct, causing obstructive jaundice. You should be very careful about the issue of crushing and constantly monitor the situation with the doctor, conducting a control every six months. ultrasound procedure.

This period of gallstone disease is characterized by periodic hepatic colic. Depending on the intensity of the attack and general condition the patient's treatment tactics may be different.

With intense prolonged pain syndrome, as well as signs of a violation of the outflow of bile, an urgent operation is indicated.

With periodic colic, small stones and their cholesterol composition, herbs can be used in medicinal purposes followed by a planned operation. The main goal of therapy at this stage is to relieve inflammation of the walls of the bladder, reduce pain and stop the growth of the stone, thereby delaying the duration of the operation. For these purposes, plant infusions are used, prepared at the rate of 1 tablespoon of collection per glass of boiling water:

  • leaves and stems of ordinary celandine, peppermint;
  • inflorescences of calendula, chamomile flowers;
  • chopped barberry roots, peppermint leaves;
  • immortelle flowers, birch leaves;
  • leaves and stems of medicinal smoke - taken during colic attacks.

Infusions of 100 ml are accepted. 3 times a day before meals.

The appearance of hepatic colic is an alarming sign. If you have not previously consulted a doctor about gallbladder diseases, then it is urgently necessary to do this without waiting for a critical attack.

In addition to infusions, plant juices are widely used in the treatment of gallstone disease, which provide not only therapeutic, but also a general strengthening effect on the body. Herbs can be used both separately and in juices of various fruits and vegetables. It is necessary to use only freshly squeezed juices, 1 teaspoon 3 times a day before meals. For these purposes, use:

  • dandelion roots;
  • parsley;
  • spinach;
  • a mixture of juices of parsley and carrots, carrots and cabbage, spinach and carrots.

The use of alcoholic tinctures also has a good effect. Since they contain alcohol, their use has a greater number of contraindications and requires greater caution. V folk medicine a huge variety of recipes are used:

  • hawthorn tincture;
  • a mixture of peppermint, valerian and motherwort infusions;
  • tinctures of chamomile and calendula inflorescences.

Apply these tinctures 30 drops a day before meals, 3 times a day.

Celandine tincture is very strong remedy, used as a stone-dissolving agent, 2 drops 3 times a day before meals. Washed down big amount water, and the course of treatment is no more than 10 days.

Treatment of gallstone disease is long and laborious and largely depends on the willpower of the patient. Treatment courses at the first stage of stone formation, when only the rheology of bile is changed, are carried out for a couple of weeks, 2 times a year.

In the presence of calculi, therapy is much longer. It is recommended to take infusions and decoctions of plants for 2 months continuously, then use choleretic agents for 2-3 weeks, with constant monitoring of well-being, then proceed with repeated courses of lytic therapy. After the first 2 months of treatment, it is necessary to undergo a control ultrasound examination to clarify the effectiveness of therapy and change the size of calculi, then repeat the examinations every six months.

You also need to adhere to diet food and lead active image life. A complex approach help to achieve best results and improve overall health.

Many are familiar with the feeling of bitterness in the mouth, a feeling of heaviness in the right hypochondrium. These sensations usually arise after eating and soon disappear on their own. Therefore, rarely does anyone pay serious attention to them, and in vain! Very often these sensations are symptoms of a very unpleasant disease - cholelithiasis (cholelithiasis).

The formation of stones in the gallbladder has recently been characteristic of the elderly. However, in recent times quite young patients complain of the symptoms of this disease. Why does a disease appear, what symptoms should make us wary, can it be cured with folk remedies? We will try to answer these questions, we will talk on the topic: cholelithiasis, treatment of cholelithiasis with folk remedies, herbs.

Why are gallstones formed?

Mostly women suffer from gallstone disease. This is because the lithogenicity of bile (the ability to form stones) is higher in women than in men.

Pregnancy is often the cause of the disease, since estrogen in the blood of pregnant women, estriol, has the ability to increase the lithogenicity of bile.

ZhKB can provoke long-term uncontrolled use oral contraceptives, especially their frequent change without medical indications.

The disease can develop against the background of obesity. It is the large doses of cholesterol obtained with abundant food that can provoke the formation of stones.

Also, the disease can appear from a sedentary, sedentary lifestyle. She is provoked by starvation fast weight loss, unbalanced diet. Keep this in mind!

Symptoms of gallstone disease

The disease develops for a very long time, slowly, for the time being without giving away anything. Only sometimes there is a short-term bitterness in the mouth, heaviness in the right side, especially after eating such tasty, but such harmful food: pickled, pickled cucumbers, kebabs, smoked bacon, especially if all this is washed down with wine.

But, you need to stop on time. If there are signs of an impending illness, it is better to remove the raw smoked sausage from the table and go to the doctor's appointment, as it will get worse further. Hepatic colic, nausea, vomiting, rumbling in the abdomen, flatulence will begin. The specialist will prescribe an ultrasound scan and it will become known whether you have stones or not, what type they are, and what treatment is necessary for you.

How to treat gallstone disease with folk remedies?

If everything has gone far, the disease has firmly established itself in the body and periodically makes itself felt, you need to take measures to relieve an attack of hepatic colic. To do this, make a warming compress. Moisten a gauze pad with warmed camphor oil, apply a compress to the gallbladder area. After a while, the pain will subside. But after that, do not delay and go to the doctor - do not hope that it will go away by itself.

Usually the disease is treated medications for crushing, dissolving stones, but often necessary surgical treatment... Can be used folk methods treatment, but they are effective at the first manifestations of the disease, it is also useful to use them as an auxiliary treatment and to alleviate the patient's condition.
