There was an allergy during pregnancy, what to do. Local allergic reactions

  • Date: 28.03.2019

Some manage to miss the victory, others - others. Not a fact, but they say that the Battle of Waterloo, the French, under the command of their emperor Bonaparte, lost because of an exacerbation of his banal hay fever. And although not everyone has Napoleonic plans, it is unlikely that anyone would agree at least to some kind of allergy interference in their personal lives. Especially in that period when it is very problematic to extinguish another attack of the disease with a pill.

  “Pink fever”, “spring catarrh”, “summer colds”, “periodic runny nose”, “hay fever” - as soon as they called seasonal allergies. Doctors have known her since ancient times. Still - in the list of her “victims” was the ancient Roman emperor Augustus, and Avicenna did not disdain to describe the allergy symptoms.

Now allergies are becoming more common, no matter how “condo” it sounds, they call it “the plague of the twenty-first century” or “the disease of civilization”. It is becoming more common; and the reason for this, according to many experts, is the unfavorable environmental situation, excessive enthusiasm for antibiotics, household chemicals, and the amount of allergens that each of us has to deal with every day. And on one “beautiful” day, the organism turns out to be very sensitive to one of the irritants and, in response, “throws out” a huge amount of histamine into the blood, and then (oh, horror!) Welcome, cough, runny nose, suffocation (who is lucky) itching or reddened eyes.

And yet, in what cases is the risk of “earning” an allergy especially great? Most often, if you did not have a hereditary predisposition, in the heat, morning or afternoon, when the concentration of allergens in the air reaches a maximum. In my case, this happened: an abnormally warm May, a flowering park and a crowd of people who raised road dust and pollen into the air. Immunity could not but react to such a number of so-called “antigens”. In a word, the "cup of patience" of the body was full (in my opinion, the best metaphor for the first attack of allergy cannot be picked up).

Allergy and Pregnancy Planning

With what just do not give birth - and with hepatitis, and with a sick heart, and with allergies. There should not be any special worries about allergies. Nevertheless, if you are aware of such a “bonus” that you have, try to show responsibility when planning a pregnancy - go to the doctor.

Six months before the planned conception, the patient must undergo a course of specific sensitizing therapy. After all, what is an allergy? This is an abnormal immune response to an antigen. However, the body can be accustomed to this antigen, made to not react to it so aggressively, to achieve the correct reaction. For example, a woman knows that she is allergic to alder blossoms, she turns to specialists, they begin to introduce an allergen in very small doses, gradually increasing the dose. The result is a normal immunological response. It allows a woman to calmly survive not only the coming spring, but also another two or three following her. Then treatment is recommended to be repeated.

Allergy and pregnancy

However, not every pregnant woman is distinguished by such a consciousness. If for many women pregnancy becomes a complete surprise, what preparation can we talk about? To my shame, I confess that I am no exception. I have never made special tests in a hospital, and I only guess about the source of the allergy that woke up several years ago. Exclusively on the schedule of flowering trees in Moscow.

Pregnancy allergy symptoms

Meanwhile, the “relationship” of allergies and pregnancy can develop according to four scenario plans:

  • sudden onset of allergies, usually manifested by nasal congestion. According to statistics, it is found in a third of future mothers. Experts attribute it to a peculiar reaction of the body to an "interesting" position and the hormonal changes that accompany it.
  • exacerbation of an existing allergy. To solve this problem, a pregnant woman should consult a doctor;
  • the patient’s state of health does not change. Here, most likely, conservative methods of prevention and specialist advice can be dispensed with;
  • improvement of the pregnant woman. This option is not uncommon. There is an opinion that it is associated with an increase in the production of a hormone called cortisol. According to scientists, he is characterized by antiallergenic activity. It happens that in patients with asthma (the same one that outgrew from ordinary pollen rhinitis), the number of seizures decreases markedly. I came across a similar example from personal experience. My girlfriend, suffering from bronchial asthma, during pregnancy completely forgot about asphyxiation and inhalation with “salbutamol”. However, after childbirth all the symptoms returned again.

So, back to the schedule of flowering plants in Moscow. I think it may not be useful to me alone. So, in March-April, alder blossoms, in April-May - hazel and elm. The second half of April, May are marked by birch, willow and poplar. The time of spruce and pine comes in June, followed by the flowering of cereals, nettles, plantain, sorrel, and in August - wormwood and swans. As you understand, based on this, experts distinguish three groups of allergenic plants: trees, cereals and weeds, and with it they note three periods of exacerbation of allergies:

    Early spring;

  • Summer-Autumn.

Pollen allergies can occur in different ways.

Pollen conjunctivitis will make you constantly rub your eyes, bring them to redness and make you cry. Pollen dermatitis appears as a rash, redness, and itching. Pollen rhinitis will be remembered by a squeezing nose, sneezing and watery eyes. In the future, it can lead to bronchial asthma. At risk - ten to thirty people out of a hundred.

Allergy Rules

To survive the seasonal allergy as easily as possible, a future mother just needs to follow a few simple recommendations:

  • Do not wait for the birch or wheat that your body hates to bloom in your native land. Plan a vacation for this time - and leave. If you are in a position, remember that it is better not to fly to distant countries. A night on the train - and you, for example, are already in Odessa, where plants allergenic for you are no longer scary;
  • In the morning hours (until about eleven in the morning) try not to go outside. At this time, the amount of volatile allergens reaches a peak. Significantly less in the evening. And if it rained during the day and there is no wind - consider that you are very lucky. So, there is very little pollen in the air;
  • Close the windows. However, if the weather is very hot and there is literally nothing to breathe, do not hesitate to buy gauze in the nearest pharmacy and "close" the windows with it. Another option is drawn cotton curtains, which from time to time can be sprayed from the spray gun;

    Going for a walk, do not forget to bring sunglasses with you a la “big turtle”. They will help save the mucous membrane of your eyes from annoying pollen and dust;

  • Returning from a walk, change clothes (probably pollen has settled on your clothes), wash yourself and rinse your nose with water;
  • Forget about herbal medicine and all kinds of folk recipes;

To avoid cross-allergies, do not get carried away with citrus fruits, chocolate, and other foods that can trigger additional histamine emissions. Remember that even harmless products can turn out to be insidious, for example, if in your case an allergy wakes up during the flowering of cereals, even oatmeal can lead to food allergies;

Do not get carried away with cosmetics and all kinds of household chemicals. In general, make it a rule to do homework with rubber gloves. Why do you need another irritant in the form of detergents?

Do not neglect allergy medications prescribed by your doctor. Carry them with you. You do not want to go to the forefathers because of some buttercup and your own stupidity?

Allergy, Pregnancy and Pills

Taking medications for allergies during pregnancy is a sensitive topic. Every pregnant woman is afraid to harm the baby growing in her pills. Especially their reception can be unfavorable in the first trimester, when there is an active formation of all the child's systems. However, if you’re completely embarrassed, this does not mean that you need to continue to suffer.

Uncontrolled intake of antihistamines is unacceptable. Everything is very individual, and the decision about whether a pregnant woman can take this or that medicine should be made by a doctor. He weighs, as if on a scale, the possible risk and benefit of using the drug. If we are talking about a banal runny nose and watery eyes, you can do without pills and tolerate. If the condition of the pregnant woman is alarming, you can focus on drugs that are classified by the FDA in the so-called “B” category (we are talking about drugs whose controlled studies have not confirmed the increased risk of developing fetal abnormalities). Category “B” includes, for example, “Zirtek”, “Suprastin”. But - I repeat - only a doctor can prescribe them - no self-medication!

Pregnancy allergy effects on the fetus

According to doctors, mother's allergy does not cause problems for the baby. The placenta reliably protects it from antigens. However, in some cases, the mother’s poor health can affect the condition of the fetus. So, with attacks of bronchial asthma, oxygen starvation of the child is possible.

Whether your child will have an allergy or not is a moot point. According to statistics, if both father and mother suffer from seasonal allergies, then the chances of a child avoiding this unpleasant disease range from ten to thirty percent. If only one parent has allergies, the situation becomes even more optimistic. In seventy percent of cases, allergies will not occur.

However, this is not a reason to relax. Now every fifth inhabitant of the planet suffers from a violent reaction to flowering plants. Making seasonal allergies is easy. It’s harder to part with it. However, this often happens: an allergy as suddenly as it appeared, disappears once and for all. Let's hope this is just your case.

Often, an allergist is contacted by women who have an allergy during pregnancy, what to treat is decided only by the doctor, because the immune reactions in pregnant women are stopped taking into account the trimester, so as not to cause dangerous consequences for the expectant mother and fetus.

One of the features of the female body during pregnancy is a decrease in immune defense. Impaired immunity contributes to the risk of allergies, which develops in 30% of expectant mothers, so pathology must be treated to avoid the risk of anomalies.

WHAT DOCTORS SAY ABOUT EFFECTIVE METHODS OF TREATMENT OF ALLERGIES

Vice President of the Association of Children's Allergologists and Immunologists of Russia. Pediatrician, allergist-immunologist. Smolkin Yuri Solomonovich

Practical medical experience: more than 30 years

According to recent WHO data, it is allergic reactions in the human body that lead to the occurrence of most fatal diseases. And it all starts with the fact that a person has itchy nose, sneezing, runny nose, red spots on the skin, in some cases choking.

7 million people die every year due to allergies , and the extent of the lesion is such that an allergic enzyme is present in almost every person.

Unfortunately, in Russia and the CIS countries, pharmacy corporations sell expensive drugs that only relieve symptoms, thereby planting people on a particular drug. That is why in these countries such a high percentage of diseases and so many people suffer from "non-working" drugs.

Causes of allergies during pregnancy

Most of the expectant mothers already have an idea of \u200b\u200ballergies, being allergic at first, so during pregnancy it is important to simply protect yourself and beware of allergic reactions so as not to treat them later. But for some women, pregnancy is a kind of catalyst that speeds up and complicates the allergy process.

The ability of a pregnant woman’s immunity to resist internal and external foreign agents works in double volume, therefore a girl in an “interesting” position, prone to allergies, should be wary of the following types of antigens:

  • dust mites;
  • pollen grains of plants with a high concentration of allergens;
  • pet waste products;
  • medications;
  • highly allergenic foods, foods with high GMO content;
  • cosmetic composition;
  • exposure to low temperatures;
  • ultra-violet rays.

Experts distinguish a number of factors that adversely affect allergies:

  • stressful conditions, depressive disorders;
  • decreased immunity;
  • frequent use of drugs without medical indications;
  • interaction with household chemicals;
  • neglect of advice on healthy eating;
  • poor environmental situation.

Types of allergic reactions during pregnancy

Allergies during pregnancy are classified into:

  1. Allergic rhinitis - many have heard about the concept of "toxicosis of pregnant women." Runny nose - a frequent "companion" of a woman during pregnancy. Allergy is manifested by symptoms such as: the release of clear mucus from the nose, nasal congestion, sneezing attacks, severe itching of the mucous membranes. Runny nose seen during seasonal allergies, inhalation of dust, contact with pets. To get rid of discomfort, the pathology must be treated;
  2. Allergic conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye, characterized by photophobia, lacrimation, redness of the eyeball. Conjunctivitis is usually accompanied by rhinitis, therefore, the symptoms of a runny nose are added to the above symptoms, therefore, it is necessary to treat not only eye symptoms, but also nasal ones;
  3. Nettle rash - a type of dermatosis that resembles a nettle burn, appears on a certain area of \u200b\u200bthe skin due to contact allergies, that is, where there was contact with an irritating factor. The skin is intolerably itchy, redden and swell;
  4. Angioneurotic edema is a giant urticaria, a rapid-type allergy in which mucous membranes and skin swell. A complication of Quincke's edema is anaphylaxis, manifested by asphyxia and impaired hemodynamics, therefore, at the first allergic signs, you should call an ambulance and treat the pathology. Sometimes during angioedema, pain in the joints is felt or mobility is limited. It happens that during pregnancy the digestive tract suffers, that is, a woman feels soreness in the peritoneum and difficulty emptying. In this case, it is advisable to treat not only allergies, but also consult a gastroenterologist.

The consequences of an allergy to the fetus

During pregnancy, a woman involuntarily listens to her health condition and is worried about an unborn baby. If in the absence of pregnancy there is no difficulty in choosing antiallergic drugs, now the question is whether the medication will harm an unborn baby, how and how to treat allergies in order to avoid complications.

Important! Before taking an antihistamine during pregnancy, the patient must consult with a treating doctor. Allergy in itself does not harm the baby: the placental barrier protects the fetus from pests. But a child born may have negative consequences, because it is known that if at least one parent is prone to allergies, the baby will inherit the pathology and will have to treat the baby for a long time and hard.

Not always an allergy is transmitted to the baby from the parents. The table shows examples of the effects of allergies on the fetus in trimesters.

Gestational age Malicious effect on the fetus
I trimesterA full-fledged placental barrier has not yet formed. The embryo, which has an organ system at this stage, is not protected by the placenta. Therefore, when taking medications against allergies during embryogenesis, there is a high probability of having a baby with developmental defects.
II trimesterThe placental barrier is structured, so the pathogenetic factors and the use of many medications by the mother are not dangerous to the fetus. It is not recommended to take drugs that are prohibited during pregnancy.
III trimesterThe placenta prevents the penetration of antigens to the fetus and the baby is safe before birth, but the deterioration of the mother with allergies adversely affects the baby.

Remember! Self-treatment of allergies during pregnancy is fraught with pathological processes when laying organ systems. Most drugs are not allowed for use during pregnancy, contributing to the appearance of malformations of the central nervous system, circulatory system and other pathological conditions. Taking illegal drugs, the utero-placental blood flow may deteriorate, which can lead to fetal oxygen starvation. This means that it is impossible to treat allergies without consulting a specialist.

In addition to the unborn baby, allergies cause negative immune responses in women. So, a common cold can be complicated by bronchial asthma or Quincke's edema, which contributes to respiratory failure and a lack of oxygen in the child, which is why oxygen starvation is likely.

The fetus is interrelated with the state of the mother, so a runny nose, cough, itching adversely affect not only the pregnant woman, but also the unborn child. Therefore, allergies should be treated, rather than waiting for their independent disappearance.

The manifestation of allergy symptoms during pregnancy

Statistics say that most women experience allergies during pregnancy: this is due to weakened immunity, which works "for two." In this case, it is important for a pregnant woman to know how and how to treat the manifestation of allergies.

It is known that many factors contribute to the development of allergies, so the main thing is to prevent the disease in time, rather than carefully treat the pathology and worry about the baby’s health due to taking medications.

If allergic symptoms occur during pregnancy, you must:

  • visit an allergist-immunologist - if symptoms occur, you must determine the cause of the allergy. For this, the types of diagnostics are assigned to the patient: scarification tests and blood for sensitivity to foreign proteins;
  • start treatment of pathology in a timely manner - many drugs are not intended for use during pregnancy, so only an expert should treat allergies, because he knows which drugs will not harm the fetus;
  • stop interacting with antigens;
  • refrain from eating foods with a high concentration of allergens;
  • give preference to organic cosmetics;
  • prevent contact with allergens.

How to treat allergies

In order not to have to treat allergies, a pregnant woman must observe safety precautions: carefully use household chemicals, exclude interaction with allergenic substances, and prevent stressful situations.

Note! Often depressive and stressful situations provoke allergies, as a result of which various types of dermatoses appear.

If with the help of prophylaxis it was not possible to avoid allergies, you need to visit a doctor who, after conducting a comprehensive diagnosis and finding out the root cause, will begin to treat the disease depending on individual characteristics.

Most often, an allergy develops in the first trimester, when treating a pathology is fraught with negative consequences for the fetus. Then it is advisable to refrain from contact with allergens, and if it is not possible, for example, during the flowering season of plants, it is recommended to go out as rarely as possible, and if this cannot be avoided, wear a protective mask, sunglasses, wash your hands thoroughly and rinse your mucous membranes upon returning home on the face.

How to treat allergic rhinoconjunctivitis

To cope with the symptoms of a stuffy nose, sneezing, tearing, swelling, expectant mothers are best to use drugs based on sea water. Aquamaris, Dolphin, Aqualor wash the nasal cavity, help breathing without harming the fetus.

In addition to the above medicines during pregnancy, drops and sprays treat allergies:

  • Pinosol - drops with eucalyptus and mint extract;
  • Prevalin - spray destroys antigens;
  • Saline - drops with sodium chloride.

Inflammation of the ocular conjunctiva helps treat Innox by promoting therapy with natural ingredients.

How to treat allergic dermatosis with itching and peeling

A skin rash during pregnancy is treated with ointments and creams. The most harmless and effective anti-allergic agents from various dermatoses of allergic etiology are zinc paste and Tsindol analog, created on the basis of zinc oxide.

In pregnancy, ointments and creams with chamomile, calendula, celandine and other medicinal herbs that are dispensed without a prescription are in great demand during pregnancy.

For allergies in the form of atopic dermatitis, Physiogel is recommended. The product moisturizes and regenerates the skin.

How to treat food and drug allergies

The first step is to remove allergens from the body, Enterosgel and Lactofiltrum will help. Usually this type of allergy is manifested by urticaria and other skin rashes, therefore, in addition to cleansing the body - dermatoses are treated with creams, gels and ointments.

How to treat allergies depending on the trimester of pregnancy

If the above methods of prevention do not help, the allergist prescribes treatment with antihistamines, taking into account the patient's history.

The possible use of medicines against allergies is especially dangerous only at an early stage of pregnancy, in the II-III trimesters the potential risk should not exceed the likely benefit.

Attention! All anti-allergic medicines used during pregnancy do not guarantee the absolute safety of the fetus.

In the table, we consider drugs against allergies, taking into account the trimester.

Gestational ageWhat to treat
I trimesterAll drugs against allergies are prohibited in order to avoid the risk of complications, therefore, treatment is allowed only with safe means. The following can help relieve allergy symptoms:
  • nasal drops - Aquamaris, Salin, Pinosol - with signs of allergic rhinitis;
  • ointments - based on zinc oxide, Oylatum - with signs of dermatosis;
  • homeopathic treatment - Rinitol EDAS 131, Euphorbium Composite - support the immune system;
  • sorbents - Polysorb, Fosfalugel, activated carbon - for food or drug allergies.
II trimesterThe placenta barrier protects the baby from the negative effects of drugs. At this stage, antihistamines and corticosteroids are allowed. Signs of allergies effectively suppress 1st generation anti-allergic:
  • Mebhydrolin, Clemastine;
  • corticosteroids - Dexamethasone, Prednisone;
  • vitamins C and B12, inhibiting allergies in the form of dermatoses and bronchial asthma.
III trimesterAllergic symptoms in this trimester are treated with a new generation of antihistamines. Telfast, Suprastinex, Cetrin, Erius and other drugs stop the symptoms of allergies.

How to treat allergies during pregnancy with alternative medicine

Remedies for allergies are considered harmless to the fetus during pregnancy. Ointments, infusions, talkers, creams, the basis of which are medicinal herbal preparations (succession, chamomile, burdock and others), are easily prepared at home.

You can smear the skin with funds, softening and regenerating the affected areas.

A pregnant woman is primarily concerned about the condition of the child inside her. Often, the expectant mother refuses even the necessary medicines, fearing their effect on him. Of course, in what cases it is justified, it is up to the doctor to decide, because the child needs a healthy mother. But if a woman is tormented by allergies, this scourge of our time, what should I do?

For the first time, it appears in approximately 35% of pregnant women, and for allergy sufferers in an interesting position this problem will arise with a high probability. A cross allergy may even manifest itself - when a woman who has previously suffered from skin rashes suddenly has a runny nose. So is it possible to take allergy pills during pregnancy? Depends on what. The choice of such drugs is now truly diverse.

In general, it is better, of course, to use topical antihistamines: ointment, gel, cream. They are preferable, since they affect the body as a whole less and rarely have side effects. The ointment is prescribed for chronic dry skin, the active substances from it penetrate the body better. Antiallergic ointments are anti-inflammatory, hormonal, moisturizing and combined.

Of the anti-inflammatory, fenistil is quite safe, it can even be given to infants. It is prescribed to pregnant women in the second and third trimester, but in small areas of the skin, and in the first under the supervision of a doctor. Ointment "Psilo-balm" is also allowed at all stages of pregnancy. It well removes local swelling, redness and itching. Hormonal ointment usually contains corticosteroids. It relieves itching and weeping well. But such drugs usually have side effects. Hormonal ointment is prescribed for a short time and in small areas of the body. It is recommended to alternate with non-steroidal drugs. Among the popular external products are Elocom, Advantan, Afloderm.

Moisturizing and nourishing preparations are safe for pregnant women, they can be used for a long time. For example, ointment such as bepantene is widely known, D-panthenol and emolium are also popular.

Usually, external antiallergic drugs are prescribed as part of a comprehensive treatment. If they do not help, the medicine will have to be taken orally. But remember - some common antiallergic drugs, such as tavegil and diphenhydramine, are prohibited during pregnancy. Tavegil inhibits the development of the nervous system of the fetus, and a doctor can prescribe it only with a direct threat to the life of the mother. Diphenhydramine affects the tone of the uterus, it should not be taken in the third trimester, so as not to provoke premature birth. Due to the use of terfenadine, the baby in the womb may stop gaining weight, astemizole has a toxic effect on him. But even with the permitted means should be careful. Without the appointment of a doctor, they should not be used.

What kind of allergy pills can you drink during pregnancy?

Suprastin, a popular antiallergic drug, can only be used in the second and third trimester, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus. It eases conjunctivitis and rhinitis, helps with hives and hay fever, skin diseases and itching from insect bites. It is usually taken on a tablet 3-4 times a day after meals. Suprastin has a sedative effect, so it can cause drowsiness and lethargy in pregnant women.

Claritin (loratadine) is a newer drug of the next generation, and is often prescribed during pregnancy. It does not cause drowsiness or dry mucous membranes. Claritin blocks histamine receptors and acts quickly, in half an hour. The effect of it lasts a day. Claritin helps with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, chronic urticaria. It removes sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, lacrimation, rash, itching, and burning on the skin and eyes. Adults take it on a tablet once a day, regardless of food intake. Among the side effects of clarithin are headache, nervousness, fatigue.

Sometimes drugs based on cetirizine are prescribed. Cetirizine is theoretically safe during pregnancy. He has no pronounced sedative effect. Side effects include nausea, headache, dizziness, and dry mouth.

Often with allergies, pregnant women are prescribed diazolin. It does not cause drowsiness, does not cause uterine tone, works best with insect bites. Diazolin can be taken no more than 300 mg per day. The drug acts quickly, after two hours. Its action lasts two days.

Natural antihistamines.

When treating allergies in pregnant women, one should not forget about natural antihistamines. The doctor prescribes vitamins A, C and group B, as well as pantothenic and nicotinic acid. Vitamin C - ascorbic acid - helps the body reduce its susceptibility to allergens. Take it three times a day after meals. However, one must remember that vitamin C is able to penetrate the placenta, and the fetus can get used to its high content in the mother's body. And after birth, the baby may develop an allergy.

Vitamin B5, or pantothenic acid, is used for allergies, dermatitis, bronchial asthma, eczema, and hay fever. Helps with nasal congestion and allergic rhinitis. Vitamin B5 is absolutely safe and suitable for pregnant women. It is taken three times a day on a tablet.

Nicotinic acid, or vitamin B3, reduces pollen allergy, reduces the severity of the reaction. It is almost completely safe for pregnant women.

The intake of vitamin B12 at 500 mcg per day reduces skin rashes, allergic asthma, and reduces sensitivity to allergens.

Zinc in the form of complex compounds reduces the reaction to household chemicals, perfumes, and cosmetics. It is prescribed 50-60 mg per day.

The most important thing in this situation is to avoid allergens whenever possible and take preventive measures against the development of allergies. This will help reduce its symptoms without taking medications that are always unwanted during pregnancy.

  • During the period of carrying the baby, the female body becomes very susceptible to various kinds of irritants. Against this background, most representatives of the weaker sex in the body begin to take place not quite pleasant changes that provoke the development of allergies
  • Of course, if a woman was prone to allergic reactions before pregnancy, then she knows exactly how to quickly eliminate the source of irritation and remove all unpleasant symptoms
  • But if a similar problem began to develop during pregnancy, then a woman in labor must definitely seek help from specialists. After all, if the body of the future mother does not function correctly, then this will quickly affect the well-being and development of the small person

  Even your favorite pet can become an allergen

Pregnancy has a pretty strong effect on the female body. It becomes much more difficult for him to serve off aggressive environmental attacks and recover quickly after them. Most of all, in this case, the immune system suffers, because now it has to protect not one, but two organisms.

Because of this, she ceases to cope with her main function and a pregnant woman has an allergic reaction even to those products and cosmetics that she really liked before.

Allergy during pregnancy: causes:
   Poor cosmetics
   Adverse environment
   Regular stress
   Synthetic materials
   Citrus
   Some medications
   Tendency to allergic manifestations
   The presence of animals in the house

First trimester allergy

Pregnancy allergy treatment requires an allergist consultation
  • In the first 12-14 weeks of pregnancy, the female body experiences a big shake. The future mother has a sharp increase in hormonal levels and toxicosis appears. It is the latter and may be the most important causative development of allergies in the early stages
  • Therefore, if you know for sure that it was toxicosis that became the main factors for the appearance of unpleasant symptoms, then just patiently wait for the body to completely rebuild and not perceive your little miracle as something alien
  • In this case, you can do without taking medication. After all, from the very beginning of pregnancy, the antiallergic substance cortisol begins to be produced in the body of a woman. Ideally, it will be able to independently cope with allergies and remove all its symptoms.
  • But if the unpleasant manifestations do not go away, but only intensify, then consult a doctor immediately, because even a banal nasal congestion can provoke oxygen starvation of the baby

Allergy in the second trimester of pregnancy

Honey is considered a fairly strong allergen.
  • By the beginning of the second trimester, the pregnant body is already completely rebuilt, so it becomes much easier for him to deal with various kinds of diseases. But even during this period, the lynx of allergy development persists. It can be triggered by food additives, exotic fruits, sunlight or common dust
  • Therefore, the future mother should especially carefully draw up a diet and regularly clean the room in which she spends her time. Sometimes such measures help calmly pass this stage of pregnancy and avoid the negative impact of allergens on the body of a future person.
  • And if you still feel that your body does not perceive any substances, then immediately take action and remove the source of irritation from yourself. It may not stop the development of allergies, but the disease will be much easier

Third trimester allergy

Allergic renitis
  • Starting from week 28, the baby begins to form immunity. And this means that the female body can hardly resist external factors. In a large number of mothers, it is in the third trimester of pregnancy that such an unpleasant phenomenon as toxicosis begins to appear again
  • Therefore, it is very important that during this period the weakened female body does not attack allergens. Try to eat exclusively homemade and freshly prepared food with a minimum amount of spices
  • Also exclude from your diet purchased juices, absolutely all citrus fruits, pineapples and herbal teas. In general, it will be better if you are engaged in the prevention of allergies throughout your pregnancy. So you can easily transfer pregnancy and give birth to a healthy baby

Symptoms of allergies that may appear in the third trimester:
   Severe redness of the eyes
   Swelling of the limbs
   Nasal congestion
   Tear
   Rash throughout the body

Pregnancy allergy: effects on the fetus

Allergy medications are quite toxic.
  • Almost every woman who has allergies during pregnancy is very worried that her problem does not have a negative impact on the development of her child
  • Of course, the condition of a small person directly depends on the health of the mother. But nevertheless, we can definitely say that allergens have almost no effect on the baby’s health
  • The placenta reliably protects the child from the negative effects. Only drugs that a woman will take can be harmful. Therefore, antiallergenic tablets are usually prescribed only if treatment therapy does not harm the baby

The consequences of taking medications:
   The baby’s heart system may not work well
   Blood flow worsens
   Less oxygen enters the placenta
   The amount of nutrients is drastically reduced
   The development of the nervous system is disturbed

Pregnancy allergy: what to do?

Household chemicals are considered a very strong allergen.

If you still could not avoid the pathology, and it is quite difficult, then consult an allergist and immunologist without fail, pass all the necessary tests and strictly adhere to all the recommendations. So you can avoid negative consequences and get rid of allergies in a short time.

Measures to help rule out complications:
   Give blood for analysis
   Do a skin test
   Try to get rid of unpleasant symptoms.
   Avoid contact with allergens.
   Follow a hypoallergenic diet for a while.
   Use household chemicals as little as possible.
   Buy only natural care products

What pills can be used for allergies during pregnancy?

Allergy pills

Absolutely all antihistamines sold in pharmacies have the same effect on pathology. The therapeutic substances that are in their composition quickly suppress mast cells and thereby stop the further development of an allergic reaction. But if such treatment only helps an ordinary person, then a pregnant woman can do even more harm.

In addition to the fact that it can make a woman drowsy and inhibited, it can worsen the baby’s health. Therefore, before you start taking this or that drug, think about what consequences you can get in the end.

And remember, any treatment during pregnancy should be prescribed by a doctor, only he can choose a dosage so that it does not harm the health of the future person.

Drugs for the treatment of allergies during pregnancy:
   Suprastin
   Claritin
   Fexadine
   Loratidine
   Cetirizine

Drops from an allergy during pregnancy

Drops Marimer

One of the most common symptoms of allergies is nasal congestion. Everyone knows that you can get rid of this problem only with special drops and sprays. Therefore, the first thing a woman does is run to the pharmacy and buy the most common vasoconstrictor. But such a rush can turn into even bigger problems.

If you drip your nose with such a drug for a long time, then there is a chance that you will develop intoxication. Harmful substances that enter your body will begin to have a negative effect on the baby’s organs, and he will not be able to develop correctly. Therefore, if you have to use nasal drops, then give preference to a non-hormonal antihistamine spray.

List of drops that pregnant women can use:
   Nasobek
   Beconase
   Aldecetrine
   Nazonex
   Aqua Maris
   Marimer
   Pinosol

Pregnancy allergy ointment

Antiallergic ointment

Although the ointment itself cannot cure an allergy, it can remove as much as possible unpleasant symptoms such as severe itching, swelling, and dry skin. But, as in the case of drops, preference should be given to those ointments that have minimal negative impact on the body.

Sveta:   I have known allergies since childhood. When poplar fluff starts to fly, I blister all over, start sneezing and itching. Usually, as soon as the first symptoms appeared, I ran to the pharmacy, bought pills, ointments and drops closed, at home and waited until it all ended. And when I became pregnant all the symptoms began to manifest even more strongly. For some reason, the drugs prescribed by the doctor did not help me and my health worsened day by day. Friends advised me to change the climate and go to sea. Although my term was quite long, we still decided to take a chance. Three days after arrival at the place, my condition returned to normal and until the end of pregnancy the allergy no longer appeared.

Yuliya:   At the very beginning of pregnancy, a rash began to appear on my body. Just a day later, itchy pimples disappeared on their own. I decided that I just ate something wrong and calmed down. But two days later, the rash reappeared and nasal congestion was added to it. I had to go to an allergist, take an analysis and drink pills. In the end, it turned out that the barter is allergic to animal hair. Therefore, I had to refer my beloved cat Vaska to relatives. I hope when the baby is born I can take my beloved pet home.

Video: Allergic conditions during pregnancy

During each pregnancy, the body of the future mother experiences a tremendous load. Internal organs are working at an accelerated pace, so the development of some unpleasant diseases is not ruled out. These, in particular, include allergic processes that can occur even in that pregnant woman who had never before suffered from such an ailment.

In frequent cases, an allergy during pregnancy arises as a result of the hereditary predisposition of the future mother's body to pathogenic processes. Allergies during pregnancy can occur due to a sharp decrease in performance during the development of the fetus in the body of a pregnant woman. Rarely, but it still happens that an allergy during pregnancy occurs almost out of nowhere, that is, the body of a future mother has the prerequisites for the development of pathogenic processes, but they never appeared before conception.

Like any other disease, allergies can be treated. But the whole therapeutic process is complicated by the fact that many medications are unacceptable for a pregnant woman to take.

Pregnancy allergy: development and danger

An unpleasant allergic process is a particularly sensitive reaction of the body to the dominant allergen, which undermines the functioning of the immune system. There are a great many provocateurs of the disease process in nature: pollen from plants, some food products, chemical or toxic fumes, some medications and much more. The body of an individual person can accordingly respond to one or another allergen irritating him.

The immune system of the expectant mother during a period of variability is constantly in a state of stress, therefore it is not surprising if the woman’s allergic reaction is actively manifested both in cosmetics and in sunlight.

Pregnant Allergy   especially dangerous in the early stages of development of the baby. In the first trimester, the fetus begins laying tissues and internal organs. But the placenta, which performs a protective function, is not yet fully formed. Any allergen or other harmful enzyme can negatively affect the development of the baby. At the same time, it is very dangerous to take a pregnant woman antihistamines, which are prescribed to eliminate the symptoms of the allergic process.

The pathogenic process caused by allergic reactions in the body of the expectant mother can negatively affect the formation of the fetus and throughout pregnancy.

Symptoms of an allergic reaction

Many people know the main signs of an allergic reaction - it is sneezing and a runny nose, and how can an allergy occur during pregnancy?

    • Runny nose discharge in an allergic process becomes transparent or serous. A runny nose becomes constant, with almost always accompanied by sneezing. A runny nose in a future mother increases during a direct exposure to an allergen and becomes dull if the allergy provocateur does not interact with the body for a sufficiently long time. The danger of a prolonged runny nose is proven, a simple secretion of mucus from the nose can eventually form into dangerous sinusitis, sinusitis. In addition, due to prolonged runny nose, polyps in the nose may form.
    • Conjunctivitis is the main symptom of the disease - lacrimation. In addition to lacrimation, a pregnant woman may experience a fear of light, redness of the cornea of \u200b\u200bthe eye. Conjunctivitis in most cases is accompanied by a runny nose.
  • Skin rash (urticaria) - rashes of a different nature are most often localized in some parts of the body, if the allergen continues to affect the body of the expectant mother, then the skin rash appears throughout the body. In some cases, itching and peeling of the skin join the urticaria.

The above symptoms relate to mild manifestations of an allergic process. But there are signs of allergies that pose a danger to the health and life of a pregnant woman.

  • Anaphylactic shock - a woman's blood pressure instantly drops, while blood tends to accumulate in the venous system, bronchospasm and subsequent loss of consciousness occur. If you do not provide primary and subsequent medical assistance to a pregnant woman in a timely manner, such a condition threatens her death.
  • Quincke's edema is an extremely life-threatening condition in which swelling of the skin of the face and neck occurs. But Quincke's edema can spread to the respiratory tract, which is a sharp difficulty in breathing and the subsequent threat of death as a result of suffocation.
  • Generalized urticaria - the difference between this type of urticaria and the usual one is that the skin rash spreads over the entire surface of the body. Generalized urticaria is always accompanied by hormonal changes in the body, the negative effect of which is reflected in the general well-being of the woman’s body and normal functioning of internal organs. It should be noted that generalized urticaria has a chronic course, so the disease is often accompanied by itching and peeling of the skin, increased irritability, general weakness of the body.

The effect of allergies on the mother and child

Allergies in pregnant women are especially dangerous in the first stages of fetal development, protective barriers have not yet formed, so pathogenic processes in the worst way affect both the development of the fetus and the well-being of the future mother.

In the second and third trimesters, various allergenic processes no longer pose the maximum danger, since the placenta has finally formed, thereby providing protective properties from pathogens to the fetus.

Taking antihistamines can negatively affect the health of the baby, as well as his mother, at almost any stage of pregnancy. Such medications significantly reduce the developmental standards of the child, as well as adversely affect the well-being of the pregnant woman. Under the influence of antihistamines, it becomes irritable, tearfulness increases, general weakness and constant apathy are observed.

Allergy symptoms showed up. What to do?

To begin with, it is important to note that in some cases, an allergy during pregnancy is a natural reaction of the body to an unusual product or substance.

For example, when a future mother eats a new fruit for her, the body can react accordingly to an unfamiliar dish. In this case, the mild allergy symptoms go away on their own after a while.

It is necessary to take seriously such processes that appear constantly in the body of a future mother. In this case, do the following:

  • Visit an allergist or immunologist. The most important thing in the manifestation of allergic symptoms is to identify their root cause, and then diagnose the woman. The doctor chooses the method of researching the symptoms of the disease on his own. This may be a blood sampling or a skin test.
  • Promptly eliminate the symptoms of the disease. Allergies during pregnancy are complicated by the fact that the future mother should not take many medications, but it is necessary to eliminate the symptoms of the disease. Only a doctor can choose a method of treatment, he also prescribes a therapeutic course for taking certain anti-allergenic drugs.
  • Stop contact with allergy provocateurs.
  • Do not eat foods that are high allergens (citrus fruits and chocolate products).
  • Use only natural cosmetics to care for your appearance.
  • Prevent skin chemicals.

Traditional allergy treatment

Since allergies during pregnancy can cause unpleasant and dangerous complications, the symptoms of the disease are treated immediately as they manifest. Only a doctor is engaged in prescribing medications after examining a pregnant woman and establishing a diagnosis. You should not expect quick results, the treatment process will be noticeable only a few days after the start of the course use of a particular drug.

For the treatment of the disease, complex therapy is used. A woman is prescribed antiallergenic ointments, gels, or creams, which are applied to the skin with urticaria activity.

And what medications can be prescribed for a future mother to treat the disease?

  • Claritin. The drug is practically harmless, but is prescribed during pregnancy only in extreme cases.
  • Suprastin. It can be used only in the most extreme cases, when the expectant mother is in a critical painful condition, thereby exceeding the risk to the fetus.
  • Tavegil. The remedy is prescribed only if there is no real opportunity to replace it with another drug. Tavegil has a dramatically negative effect on the fetus.
  • Allertec. Reception is indicated for exacerbations of the allergic process.
  • Fexadine. Acceptance of funds is permissible if there is a threat to the life of the mother.

Dangerous medicines during pregnancy:

  • Diphenhydramine - causes increased excitability of the uterus, as a result of which a miscarriage or premature birth can occur.
  • Pipolfen - has a destructive effect on the fetus.
  • Astemizole - destroys the fetus in a toxic way.
  • Terfenadine - negatively affects the growth and development of the fetus.

Alternative treatment of allergies

Our grandmothers rarely turned to medicines for help during the activation of the disease; they carried out all the main therapy with handy means. Currently, modern medicine has confidently reached a new level of treatment for diseases, but some alternative recipes against allergies during pregnancy are effectively used now.

Before taking or using any folk remedy, the expectant mother needs to get the doctor’s approval.

  • Decoctions of herbs taken orally actively eliminate the symptoms of allergies. The healing plants are: celandine, calendula, medicinal chamomile, elderberry, nettle, and a succession.
  • An ointment made from equal parts of alcohol and water, to which starch and glycerin are added, helps to eliminate urticaria.
  • eggs
  • seafood;
  • citrus;
  • a hen;
  • chocolate.

But it is important to know that an allergy during pregnancy can occur for various reasons, therefore, an allergen can be individual. If a future mother develops negative processes for the use of a particular product, it should be urgently eliminated from the diet.

Output

At the first manifestations of allergic processes, the expectant mother needs to visit a doctor who will identify the root cause of the disease, and then prescribe the appropriate treatment. According to the doctor’s approval, a pregnant woman can use alternative recipes to eliminate unpleasant symptoms of the disease.

Self-medication of a pregnant woman is strictly prohibited. It is important to remember that the independent prescription of medications can be detrimental to the child, as well as the health of the woman herself.

The disease is always important to treat to the end. Even the cessation of the activity of the main symptoms is not the reason for completing the prescribed course of medical procedures.
