White shiny crystals of this substance easily dissolve in hot water and ethyl alcohol. The laetrile molecule decomposes under the influence of enzymes to form hydrocyanic acid, or hydrogen cyanide. Poisoning with this compound can lead to serious consequences in the form of severe circulatory disorders, dysfunction of vital organs, and death.

Properties of Vitamin B17

There is no consensus among the scientific community regarding the nature of the action of laetrile on the human body. Apologists for alternative medicine claim that this substance plays an important role in the formation of anti-cancer immunity. Scientists with the opposite point of view point to the high toxicity of amygdalin and the unsafety of its use.

However, laboratory studies repeatedly carried out by foreign experts have not proven the necessity of this metabolite for the human body. For this reason, debate continues regarding the properties of vitamin B17. Thus, supporters of alternative medicine believe that laetrile has the following therapeutic effects:

  • activates the immune system;
  • exhibits analgesic properties;
  • contains antioxidants and essential fatty acids necessary for the body;
  • used for thrombosis;
  • prevents the development of arthritis, osteochondrosis; depressive states;
  • improves vision function;
  • relieves symptoms of cancer intoxication;
  • has a wound healing and anti-inflammatory effect;
  • eliminates manifestations of stress and anxiety;
  • promotes the removal of oxidation products;
  • slows down the aging process of the skin;
  • speeds up metabolism;
  • used for hypertension.

Why does the body need vitamin B17?

Representatives of alternative medicine claim that a lack of amygdalin can provoke the development of oncology and other serious diseases. Doctors say the opposite. Answering why the body needs vitamin B17, they state that there is no scientific evidence confirming the presence of any unique qualities in this compound. Meanwhile, regarding an excess of laetrile, the opinions of both sides are unanimous and agree that such a situation can lead to severe poisoning and death.

What does vitamin B17 contain?

Amygdalin was first synthesized from bitter almonds. It must be said that this compound is part of apple seeds, young rowan shoots and many other products. Vitamin B17 is also found in bird cherry leaves and some berries. A good source of amygdalin are apricot kernels and pear seeds. In addition, when answering which foods contain vitamin B17, supporters of alternative medicine name:

Vitamin B17 against cancer

Proponents of the use of laetrile argue that this compound most directly affects the ability of the immune system to recognize atypical cells in the body. At the same time, representatives of official medicine are categorically against using vitamin B17 against cancer. They explain their position by the fact that there is no proven scientific evidence of the effectiveness of laetrile in oncology. However, unspoken statistics on the use of amygdalin in cancer show the uselessness of this substance for patients.

Laetrile or amygdalin

There are no significant differences between the therapeutic effects provided by these substances. Laetrile, as a chemically synthesized analogue of amygdalin, is recommended to be taken as an additional source of fatty acids, flavonoids, and antioxidants. It is worth reminding the reader that these properties of vitamin B17 are very contradictory. Such controversial issues require further scientific research.

The instructions for use of this product indicate that, taking into account the individual sensitivity of the body to the components of the drug, the prophylactic dose of the substance is 200-1000 mg, which is equal to 6-30 apricot kernels. The specified amount of vitamin must be consumed throughout the day. A one-time dose of laetrile or amygdalin can provoke severe hydrocyanic acid poisoning, followed by death. The substance is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women.

I will also share my story related to the last stage of cancer, when a person lived for six months instead of the week predicted by doctors - thanks to large doses of grape seeds in the Freelife dietary supplement, and I will show the mechanism of action of this vitamin on cancer cells.

Official medicine does not recognize the fact of treating cancer with vitamin therapy and considers it quackery. But a number of doctors in private clinics (except in the USA) and alternative medicine consider amygdalin an important component in the fight against cancer, as well as in maintaining one’s health at a good level, and in the fight against aging.

The effect of grape seeds on a woman dying of cancer. Personal review

It was this incident that forced me to permanently introduce a nutritional supplement based on grape seeds - Freelife - into my diet. I read Dr. Griffin's book much later.

This is a story with a sad ending... A friend of mine brought her sister to the city for examination. After all the tests, she was sent to the oncology center. But they didn’t accept her there either - the last stage of pancreatic cancer. Inoperable. She would not have been able to withstand the rest of the traditional treatment: chemotherapy, radiation - she was too weakened. According to doctors, she has a maximum of a week left to live.

A friend took her to her home and came to me to find out when the herbalist would arrive from the capital to see patients. Do you understand, right? Alternative medicine. The patient was lucky - the doctor was at the appointment. Because this is an unusual case - she was accepted without an appointment.

She took 16 capsules of Freelife and 8 capsules of Chitosan per day to remove toxins from dead cancer cells. There was also a drug to support the functions of the pancreas (F. Aktiv). All of the drugs listed are not medicines, they are nutritional supplements.

Two days after taking the grape meal, mucus and pus came out from all the cracks. A week later she got out of bed. The nausea stopped and the pain disappeared. The woman began to eat. The temperature gradually went away. And she decided that she could go home.

She was prescribed a course - to take these supplements for 3 months, then appear for examination and, perhaps, the dose will be reduced. But, having arrived in the village, she stopped taking Freelife and Chitosan. I renovated the apartment and celebrated Christmas. And she died on Epiphany - the cancer returned and she burned out within a week.

Remember, the doctors gave it a week. She lived for six months. And I would have lived further if I had continued to take the prescribed treatment.

Look at the composition of the Freelife supplement: oat sprouts, wheat sprouts, corn sprouts, grape meal, green tea, buckwheat flowers, vitamins A (1 mg), C (20 mg), E (10 mg), zinc 10 mg, selenium - 0.02 mg . In fact, the FDA and other government agencies have prevented the dissemination of information about vitamin B17. They confiscated films and books, and prosecuted doctors who used these theories to save the lives of their patients.

The modified form of Amygdalin B17 is called Laetrile and is sold in pharmacies in many countries. Trade names:"Laetrile", "Laetral", "Letril".

It is banned in the USA. If a cure for cancer can be found in apricot kernel extract, it would be a terrible economic blow to the cancer drug industry. After all, seed extract does not require a patent! Anyone can use it!

Amygdalin cannot be patented because it is found in nature. Big money can only be made on patented drugs. Therefore, the cancer industry will never be interested in amygdalin, no matter how much
it can be effective.

Laetrile is available in Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, Venezuela, and Vietnam. It is there that cancer patients go for treatment; in these countries, doctors have proven in their own clinics that the vitamin-deficient concept of cancer works.

Where used, daily requirement

Dr. Krebs suggested a minimum intake of 50 mg of B17 per day for a normal, healthy adult. Naturally, someone who is predisposed to cancer needs more, and someone who is already afflicted with the disease needs much more.

A typical apricot seed grown in the United States contains approximately 4 or 5 milligrams of B17. Using this average, we can calculate that it would take 10-12 apricot kernels per day to provide 50 milligrams of B17.

If a person gets sick and is diagnosed with cancer, then the optimal dose, according to doctors of alternative medicine, is about 1000 mg per day. If necessary, it can be increased. But the maximum amount should not exceed 3000 mg per day. The dosage is always prescribed by an experienced specialist who has been using vitamin therapy for cancer for a long time.

Amygdalin should be taken 40 minutes before meals. The daily dose must be spread throughout the day. The course of treatment is 1-2 months, depending on the state of health, then a week break is taken and the course is repeated.

Amygdalin is used comprehensively against influenza, ARVI, gastritis, colitis and constipation. Vitamin B17 restores the nervous system - it is recommended for insomnia, nervous tension, depression, and headaches.

The instructions for use of Laetrile note that the drug effectively fights seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea and low vision.

Let's take a closer look at the role of amygdalin in cancer treatment. But first, in order to better understand its effect, a little theory - how malignant tumors are formed, from which cells, how nature fights them without drugs. We will also consider the mechanism of action of Letril on healthy and cancer-sick cells.

Vitamin B17 in the treatment of cancer

Vitamin B17 is successfully used by alternative medicine in the treatment of cancer as vitamin deficiency or chronic metabolic disease. A chronic disease is an illness that usually does not go away on its own. Metabolic disease occurs within the body and is not transmitted to another person.

Cancer, therefore, being both, is a chronic metabolic disorder.

Dr. Krebs pointed out that in the entire history of medical science there has not been a single case
a chronic metabolic disorder that has ever been cured or prevented by medication, surgery, or mechanical manipulation of the body.

In every case—whether it was scurvy, pellagra, rickets, beriberi, evening blindness, pernicious anemia, or any other disease—the final solution was found only in factors relating to adequate nutrition.

The mechanism of cancer formation. Trophoblast theory

Amygdalin fits perfectly into the trophoblast theory of cancer. The essence of this theory: in our body there are special pre-embryonic cells - trophoblasts. Trophoblasts in modern language are called stem cells.

There are no differences between cancer cells and certain preembryonic cells that occur naturally in the early stages of pregnancy.

Trophoblast (stem cell) is important during pregnancy. In other cases, it causes cancer. It is formed under the influence of estrogen from specific cells, 80% of which are located in the ovaries or testicles, as genetic material for future offspring. 20% of specific cells are located throughout the body, causing the regenerative or healing process of any damaged or aging tissue.

During pregnancy, trophoblasts form the means of supporting the life of the embryo: the umbilical cord and the placenta. Outside of pregnancy, trophoblasts are synthesized under the influence of estrogen and specific cells to eliminate tissue damage.

Wherever the body is damaged by physical injury, chemical action or disease, estrogen and other steroid hormones always appear in high concentrations, perhaps serving as stimulants or catalysts for cellular growth and repair of the body.

During the normal process, after repair of the damage, cell division stops. If this does not happen and trophoblast division continues after cell or tissue restoration is complete, cancer develops.

An unnaturally high concentration of estrogen will be a factor that stimulates the onset of cancer. When cancer begins to form, the body reacts by trying to isolate it and surrounding it with cells that are native to that area of ​​the body. As a result - a tumor or lump appears.

The tumor consists of:

  • ordinary cells
  • cancer cells (trophoblasts)

When killing cancer with radiotherapy or chemotherapy, first of all they kill not cancerous cells, but healthy cells in the tumor - and they are happy that the tumor itself has shrunk. But at what expense? Not by reducing the number of cancer cells, but by reducing normal cells. That is, the benign quality of the tumor decreases. The tumor itself becomes more carcinogenic and dangerous.

Trophoblast cells produce a distinctive hormone that can be found in urine. It is known as human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG (HCG).

If CGH is detected in the urine, this indicates two results: either pregnancy or malignant cancer. If the patient is a woman, she is either pregnant or has cancer. If the patient is male, cancer may be the only cause.
A simple urine test can detect the presence of cancer before it manifests itself as a disease or tumor, and this casts serious doubt on all rationales for surgical biopsies.

Many doctors believe that any surgical intervention into a malignant tumor, even for a biopsy, increases the likelihood that the tumor will begin to spread.

How nature defeats cancer

How nature protects the body and controls the growth of trophoblast cells is a fundamental question that guides cancer research today. Why doesn't the immune system reject cancer cells as if they were strangers?

The assumption that cancer cells are foreign to the body is incorrect. Everything is just the opposite, they are a vital part of the living cycle (pregnancy and self-healing). Nature has provided them with an effective means of escape from white blood cells.

One of the features of trophoblasts is that they are surrounded by a thin protein layer with a negative electrostatic charge. White blood cells also carry a negative charge. Identical charges repel each other and thus the trophoblast is well protected from the action of immune cells

A natural solution to this problem lies in the action of ten or more pancreatic enzymes, of which trypsin and chymotrypsin are especially important in the destruction of trophoblasts.

These enzymes are present in the pancreas in an inactive state. Only once they enter the small intestine do they enter their active phase. There, the enzymes are absorbed into the bloodstream and reach the trophoblasts, where they digest the negatively charged protein coat. And then the cancer is open to attack by white blood cells, and therefore it dies.

That is, pancreatic enzymes (pancreatic enzymes) are important in the treatment of cancer. By the way, in the duodenum, where the duct from the pancreas with enzymes exits - and where they become active - the development of cancer has never been recorded. Thus, nature has assigned the pancreas a vital role in preventing cancer. It is the pancreas that holds trophoblasts
under control.

Diet with vitamin therapy

When treating cancer, it is important to eat a diet that consists of foods that do not require pancreatic enzymes to digest them. This is the type of diet that doctors who practice vitamin B17 therapy prescribe because it
frees up nearly all of the pancreatic enzymes to be absorbed into the bloodstream where they can do their job of killing cancer cells.

The diet prohibits refined sugar, poultry and eggs, and emphasizes raw vegetables, plenty of fish and plenty of vitamin supplements. The diet should preferably contain 60% raw vegetables and 40% raw fruits. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain important enzymes that are destroyed when cooked. The patient is recommended to follow this diet for at least 4 months.

What to do if the pancreas does not cope with its function of preventing cancer? It weakens with age, our diet requires the use of all enzymes, the rate of cancer growth is so high that pancreatic enzymes cannot keep up with it? What then?

Then the backup pathway or second line of defense against the development of cancer comes into play - a specific compound that destroys only cancer cells and this substance is called amygdalin or laetrile. Finally, the vitamin concept of cancer falls into place in the overall picture of the trophoblast theory of cancer.

How does vitamin B17 work? Second line of defense against cancer

Let's consider the effect of the compound on healthy and cancer cells. Molecule B17 (amygdalin) contains two units of glucose (sugar), one unit of benzaldehyde and one unit of cyanide, all tightly packed into one molecule.

Cyanide can be very poisonous and even lethal, but when bound into a molecule, it is chemically inert and poses no danger to cells.

But there is an “unlocking enzyme” - beta-glucosidase. When B17 reacts with this enzyme in the presence of water, cyanide and the equally poisonous benzaldehyde are released. The mechanism of synergy is triggered when one substance enhances another a hundredfold and vice versa. They become a hundred times more poisonous together.

The unlocking enzyme is not found anywhere in our body to any dangerous extent except in the cancer cell, where it is always present in large quantities, sometimes reaching levels one hundred times greater than in surrounding normal cells. Therefore, vitamin B17 is broken down only in the cancer cell, releases its poisons into the cancer cell, and only into the cancer cell.

In addition to the "unlocking enzyme" there is a "protective enzyme" that has the ability to neutralize cyanide, converting it into useful byproducts.
This defense enzyme is found in large quantities in every part of the body except the cancer cell, which is therefore not protected.

The unlocking enzyme may be found in small concentrations throughout the human body, but even larger amounts of the protective enzyme are also present there. Therefore, healthy tissue is protected - an excess of this protective enzyme completely neutralizes the effect of the unlocking enzyme.

A malignant cell not only has a significantly higher concentration of the unlocking enzyme than any normal cell, but it is also deficient in the protective enzyme. Thus, it is particularly vulnerable to released cyanide and benzaldehyde.

Two facts are also important:

  1. normal tissues receive energy through the process of oxidation of incoming food, so anything that improves normal respiratory metabolism inhibits the development of cancer
  2. malignant cells obtain energy from the fermentation of glucose (Dr. Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize for this proof)

It is these two differences in energy supply between normal and malignant cells that explain why vitamin B17 is safe for normal cells and tissues.

Why Laetrile is safe for normal cells

Suppose that the protective enzyme in normal cells suddenly did not work and two toxins were released:

  • benzaldehyde
  • cyanide

Benzaldehyde coming into contact with normal cells, will be oxidized and converted into safe benzoic acid.

Benzoic acid has the following properties:

  • antirheumatic
  • antiseptic
  • painkillers

Thanks to benzoic acid, B17 has the surprising effect of reducing severe pain associated with late-stage cancer without the need for special drugs. While not a painkiller by definition, B17, when it comes into contact with cancer cells, releases benzoic acid directly to the desired location, drenching the entire area in a natural analgesic.

Benzaldehyde, in contact with malignant cells, is in a state of complete lack of oxygen, which causes it to linger and fulfill its deadly synergistic purpose for a long period of time.

What happens to cyanide when it enters normal cells?

If a small amount of cyanide spreads to adjacent normal cells, then in the presence of sulfur it is converted by an enzyme into the absolutely safe substance thiocyanate.

This compound is known as a natural blood pressure regulator. It also serves as a metabolic pathway for the biosynthesis of vitamin B12, an essential nutrient for a healthy body. Cyanide is the basis and integral part of vitamin B12, as well as B17. Another unexpected side effect of vitamin B17 is an increase in red blood cell, or hemoglobin, levels.

In the mouth and stomach, benzaldehyde and cyanide, in trace amounts, attack bacteria that cause tooth decay and bad breath. In the intestines, they interact with bacterial microflora to suppress or eliminate the accumulation of gases caused by food consumption.

This vitamin, in the form of laetrile, was first used as a cancer treatment in Russia back in the mid-1800s and then spread to the United States in the 1920s. By the 1970s, laetrile gained popularity as an anti-cancer agent, with over 70,000 people in the US alone at the time using vitamin B17 laetrile to treat cancer.

Today, vitamin B17 laetrile is not approved for the prevention or treatment of cancer in the United States. This is because there is not enough evidence to fully understand how laetrile works in humans and that it is truly safe and effective.

While vitamin B17 has shown anti-cancer activity in some animal studies, the FDA believes more information is needed about its effects in humans in clinical trials before it can be widely used to prevent disease and boost immunity.

Since the FDA has made purchasing B17 laetrile vitamin supplements illegal and nearly impossible, many people are choosing to purchase extracts or tablets online. A popular way to consume vitamin B17 is by eating apricot kernels. Inside an apricot pit, or other fruit seeds such as peach pits or apple seeds, is a kernel. There is still no clear answer to this question, since the results of some scientific studies confirm the anticancer activity of this substance, while others do not. Vitamin B17 is a compound of nitrilocides, soluble in water, mostly non-toxic, containing. There are almost 800 plant species, most of which are edible.

Probably many of you have heard about vitamins, and even a group of beneficial B-substances. But few people know about the existence of B17. And there is more controversy surrounding it than about any other drug. At the same time, it is called both a powerful remedy for cancer and a particularly dangerous poison; doctors who use B17 in practice are equally often called “luminaries” and charlatans. So far, vitamin B17 is most actively used as a medicine in Mexico. There, the main source of useful substances are apricot kernels. And this, so to speak, is nature’s “version” of the vitamin. In addition to it, there is a synthetic analogue of the drug.

Vitamin B17: nice to meet you!

Vitamin B17, also known as lethril or amygdalin, was isolated by biochemist Ernest Krebs from apricot kernels. With the light hand of a scientist, due to its anti-cancer properties, B17 received another name - antitumor vitamin.

Shortly before B17, Dr. Krebs made another discovery - he gave the world , or pangamic acid. After years of research, fully confident in the therapeutic properties of B17, and to prove the non-toxicity of the substance, the doctor injected himself with lethril into his arm. So the scientist tried to show that the substance he discovered was deadly to cancer cells, but completely safe for a healthy body and did not cause side effects.

From a biochemical point of view, B17 is not a vitamin, and in the scientific literature its other names are more often found: Mandelonitrile beta D gentiobioside, Mandelonitrile beta glucuronide, Laevorotatory, Purasin, Amygdalina, Nitriloside.

This natural chemotherapy drug is found in most fruits and berries. But the main sources of B17 are bitter almonds and apricot kernels. Found in clover and beans.

Letril and amygdalin: what is the difference?

Biochemists divide B17 into lethril and amygdalin. The difference between them is simple. If a person, for example, swallows apricot kernels, then he is using amygdalin. While letril is a water-soluble substance containing amygdalin. Letril is a partially synthetic formation of amygdalin. That is, in the first case we can talk about a natural “version” of B17, in the second – about a product of the pharmaceutical industry. Natural vitamin is less concentrated and is absorbed more slowly by the body. Meanwhile, these two concepts are distinguished to a greater extent only by narrow specialists. In a wide circle, the name more often used is vitamin b17.

The vitamin that quarreled the scientific world

It is difficult to find among microelements another substance as controversial as amygdalin. Some scientists convince of its incredible effectiveness in treating cancer, while others make fun of their colleagues. But what allowed us to draw conclusions about the anti-cancer properties of B17? And in general, the almost miraculous capabilities of letril - what is it: a myth or a reality that gives a chance for life without cancer?

The first experiments conducted on animals showed that B17 slows down the development of cancer, stops the growth of tumors, and prevents the spread of metastases. But when the experiment was repeated a second time, its results were no longer so inspiring.

Another group of scientists subjected laetral to experiments in laboratory conditions. Researchers removed a specific enzyme from amygdalin, which is produced under the body's conditions, and exposed it to artificially bred cancer cells. The tumors died. But after the experiment, scientists agreed: in the conditions of the human body, along with diseased cells, healthy cells would most likely die under the influence of cyanide.

A group of scientists from another clinic came to the conclusion that a properly selected dose of amygdalin can make cancer cells more sensitive to radiotherapy. As a result of the experiments, the following discovery was made: cancer cells in the center of the tumor are less saturated with oxygen than cells outside the malignant formation. And the absence of oxygen makes the cell more resistant to anti-cancer therapy, in particular, almost insensitive to radiation.

Laboratory studies have convinced scientists that B17 is able to enrich tumor-damaged areas with oxygen and thereby increase the effectiveness of traditional treatment.

This experiment was first carried out in 1978, since then there has been no official confirmation of the results.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, two studies were conducted by the National Cancer Institute (USA). The first phase of the experiment involved 6 patients at the oncology clinic. They agreed to check for themselves in what doses amygdalin works (and whether it works at all) on cancer patients. At this stage, the researchers were able to learn not much. The main conclusion made in the 1970s: large amounts of raw food eaten as a source of B17 causes poisoning.

The second phase of the experiment was conducted in 1982 with the participation of 175 cancer patients. But only one person showed positive changes after 10 weeks of using amygdalin. In other patients, the tumor continued to grow, and in some, metastases appeared in the liver.

But it is known that scientists have not left B17 outside their attention and continue laboratory experiments. Perhaps they will soon please the world with new information about the effectiveness of the substance.

An unrecognized anti-cancer drug

While there is no scientific basis to clearly call B17 a cure for cancer, official medicine refuses to agree with this statement.

But despite this, many people choose Letril instead of traditional radiotherapy or chemotherapy. By the way, this substance was first used as a cure for cancer in Russia back in 1845, and in the USA in the 1920s. In the 1970s, a worldwide campaign began promoting B17 as an anti-cancer agent. Later, amygdalin became part of special dietary programs.

Today, the question remains open for many: how does vitamin B17 in apricot kernels manage to kill cancer cells? Or is it still a hoax and there is no antitumor effect?

Formula B17 consists of glucose and hydrogen cyanide. This “mixture” destroys cancer cells. When an amygdalin molecule encounters a cancer cell on its way, it is split into 2 glucose molecules, 1 hydrogen cyanide molecule and 1 benzaldehyde molecule. First, glucose passes into the damaged cell, then cyanide and benzaldehyde from glucose create a special poison, which destroys the cancerous formation. Early research suggested that the hydrogen cyanide molecule was central to the anti-cancer fight. More recent studies indicate that benzaldehyde is the cancer killer.

If you bypass all the clever scientific terms and try to explain it in a simple way, this is what you get. Cancer loves sugar. In apricot kernels, sugar is surrounded by cyanide. Cancer “eats” its favorite sugar and “releases” cyanide, which begins to act only in the cancer cell. It's like a smart bomb.

And if you understand how amygdalin “works,” it becomes clear: the problem is not the toxicity of apricot kernels, but the amount of B17 consumed. On the other hand, even if you take an adequate dose of seeds, but there is too much sugar in your daily diet, this can also neutralize the positive properties of B17.

Therefore, when starting apricot therapy, it is important to exclude sugar consumption from the daily diet or reduce it to a minimum.

The benefits of this biochemical process have been causing heated debate in scientific circles for many decades, but so far, as some argue, this is the only effective method of combating cancer. Many doctors oppose the use of B17 as an anti-cancer drug, citing its toxicity. Meanwhile, amygdalin advocates remind: other drugs for cancer are much more toxic.

Adherents of treating cancer with letril claim that it is not only capable of destroying diseased cells, but also acts on the body as a general strengthening agent. And if it is not possible to buy pharmaceutical B17, it is always easy to obtain it from food products that contain amygdalin.

Sweet medicine

Most people chose apricot kernels as the source of B17. They taste like almonds, but are more tender. Most experts recommend consuming 24 to 35 kernels daily. Other foods where amygdalin can be found include buckwheat. However, processed cereals (for example, into flour) lose their vitamin properties. But heat treatment for vitamin B17 is not terrible - it can withstand up to 300 degrees Celsius.

It is also worth paying attention to raspberries and blackberries, the seeds of which contain B17. In addition, raspberries and strawberries contain another anti-cancer substance - ellagic acid.

Many housewives, when making jam from blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and grapes, get rid of the seeds. And this is the main mistake.

It is the small grains that contain most of the beneficial properties. And when eating apples, at least sometimes it’s worth eating the whole fruit - along with the seeds.

These recommendations are relevant not only for patients at oncology clinics. If you don’t ever want to encounter this terrible disease, eat apricots and berries as a tasty source of vitamins and microelements, as well as for the prevention of many diseases. At least, this is what people who believe in the healing properties of B17 advise.

How it “works” in the body

The laetral molecule is capable of entering into chemical reactions with enzymes of non-cancerous cells even before it affects the malignant formation. The enzyme of a healthy cell has a detrimental effect on the B17 molecule, destroying it. Therefore, after such a reaction, B17 will not have an effect on malignant formations.

The second way B17 influences the body. As a result of metabolic processes, B17 is able to produce trypsin and chymotrypsin in the human body, and they already begin to fight cancer: they break down the enzymes surrounding cancer cells, after which white blood cells are able to identify “sick” cells and kill them.

Another beneficial side effect of the B17 diet is that the body synthesizes more vitamin B12, which, in combination with ascorbic acid, is also an excellent anti-cancer agent.

And although amygdalin has not yet been approved as a drug for the treatment of cancer, Dr. John Richardson from the San Francisco Clinic took a risk. He prescribed B17 as a medicine to his oncology patients and carefully monitored changes in their condition. The risky step had a positive effect.

The first thorough studies, the purpose of which was to study the work of amygdalin as an anti-cancer agent, were carried out over 5 years from 1972 to 1977. Even then, a group of scientists in the USA found that the substance:

  • prevents tumor growth;
  • stops the growth of metastases throughout the body;
  • reduces pain caused by a tumor;
  • improves the general well-being of the patient;
  • serves as a prophylactic against foreign formations.

B17 and other products containing vitamins and can significantly improve health and create a reliable barrier against many diseases. We’ll talk about what B17 is in a little later, but for now the most popular ones, which are always on hand: ginger, cumin, flax, raw fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, chard, chili peppers, sprouted wheat.

Pharmaceutical forms B17

Before talking about the properties of this substance, it is worth noting the most important. Under no circumstances should you take B17 without medical supervision, especially in the case of cancer. Pharmaceutical letril, like any other pharmaceutical drug, can cause serious adverse reactions if overdosed or misused.

The pharmaceutical industry offers lethrine in several forms. B17 can be taken as:

  • injections (intravenous);
  • tablets;
  • external lotions.

It is important to say that the tablet form of B17 more often causes side effects than using the drug in ampoules.

Also, the effectiveness of letril in tablets is affected by digestive bacteria and enzymes - they are able to destroy the amygdalin molecule.

Proponents of treating cancer with B17 recommend daily intravenous injections for 2-3 weeks, then taking the tablet form of the drug for some time. For skin diseases, B17 lotions in liquid form are recommended.

Letril dosages

Although the pharmaceutical form of B17 is officially banned in many countries, some still manage to obtain the drug. And if we talk about letril as a medicine against cancer, then its dosage is still only a theory, unconfirmed in practice.

  • for intravenous injection – 1-9 g;
  • in tablets – 100-500 mg;
  • as a prophylaxis – 50-200 mg.

Adherents of apricot treatment advise eating no more than 30 apricot kernels per day. Each seed contains approximately 4-5 mg of amygdalin, from 30 kernels a dose of 120-150 mg is obtained.

According to another theory, you should consume exactly as many apricot kernels per day as you eat fruit. That is, eat the whole sweet fruit, and not separate the pulp or kernels from the seeds. Some people cannot chew the bitter-tasting seeds, then you can try crushing apricot kernels and mixing them with fruit juice.

True, we must remember that there should be moderation in everything. You can’t buy a bucket of apricots and eat them all in one evening. An overdose of vitamin B17 causes intoxication.

Fortunately, the human body is a smart system. And the body is programmed to say “no” when it experiences an excess of something, thus protecting itself from poisoning.

Signs of overdose:

  • dizziness;
  • blurred vision;
  • nausea.

If any of the symptoms are observed, it is worth reducing the dose of B17 intake. If there are signs of a vitamin overdose, the first thing to do is take care of detoxification - remove the remaining cyanide from the body, having previously transformed it into non-toxic thiosulfate. Drink plenty of water. If symptoms do not go away, more radical methods are immediately used in a hospital setting.

But do not be alarmed; hypervitaminosis is an extremely rare occurrence if a synthetic vitamin is consumed under the supervision of a doctor. Natural amygdalin obtained from food is generally harmless to the body.

Amygdalin in the form of a solution for intravenous injection is also said to be devoid of toxicity. No cyanide was found in the blood of patients taking B17 injections.

B17 deficiency

It is difficult to say what consequences a lack of B17 has on the body, since the properties of the drug have not yet been fully studied. Meanwhile, many people attribute diseases such as the cause of deficiency:

  • hypertension;
  • pain of unknown origin;
  • inflammation.

Side effects

Amygdalin, as already noted and which is the main reason for refusing the drug as a medicine, contains cyanide. And this is quite a strong poison. Its overdose causes:

  • nausea;
  • headache;
  • dizziness;
  • liver problems;
  • fever;
  • decreased blood pressure;
  • impaired coordination and difficulty moving;
  • confusion;
  • to whom;
  • death.

It is calculated that 50-60 apricot kernels contain 50 grams of amygdalin, and this is a lethal dose for humans. Therefore, when taking B17 in tablets or injections, it is important to avoid foods that contain a lot of amygdalin. And this:

  • raw almonds;
  • ground fruit seeds, seeds, kernels;
  • apricots;
  • peaches;
  • bean pods;
  • carrot;
  • nuts.

These products are completely safe for daily consumption if there are no pharmaceutical analogues of B17 in the diet. People with liver disease should not consume food rich in amygdalin in large quantities, since letril causes serious damage to the gland.

Considering the illegality of using amygdalin in the treatment of cancer, and at the same time its high popularity among consumers eager for self-medication, letril was withdrawn from free sale in many countries around the world, including the European Union and the United States. But those who like to shop online rejoice: it’s easy to buy literally everything online. Although biochemists have their own opinion on this - medications on the Internet are often nothing more than dummies...

Side effects of apricot vitamin

  1. Low pressure. Sometimes taking medications and foods containing B17 provoke a sharp decrease in blood pressure. But usually this is a temporary reaction that occurs as a result of the formation of thiocyanate in the body, a substance that affects blood pressure. Sources B17

There are many sources of vitamin B17 in the wild. Natural amygdalin is a bitter substance. And man, craving only products that taste and smell pleasant, abandoned the selection and crossing of bitter plants containing B17. Therefore, most “domesticated” plants do not contain bitterness. We can name examples where people, having refused the services of traditional medicine, live successfully and happily with a diagnosis of cancer, choosing a therapeutic diet instead of medications. Many nutritionists are not surprised by such examples; on the contrary, they claim that the right food can do many miracles. But at the same time, none of them takes it upon themselves to say that it is possible to completely abandon the services of traditional medicine. Although using dietary advice in parallel with treatment is a good option. Especially when it comes to vitamins. In particular, about a substance that can fight cancer cells – vitamin B17.

Some nutritionists claim that a certain nutritional system can eliminate many diseases, including protect against cancer.

Secondly, to enhance the “performance” of B17, it is recommended to additionally take:

  1. Eat buckwheat three times a day (at the rate of half a glass of raw cereal per serving). After cooking, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the porridge. Eat slowly.
  2. 30 minutes before meals, take 1 tablespoon of the medicinal mixture. To prepare it, take equal proportions of buckwheat flour, crushed rose hips and chopped lentils. Add to the mixture 1 tablespoon of warm boiled water, 1-2 teaspoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of aloe juice.

Amygdalin is also beneficial for pets

Proponents of the use of letril in veterinary medicine argue that vitamin B17 is just as useful for cats and dogs as it is for humans.

For example, veterinary doctor John Craig recommends giving four-toed dogs who are underweight 1 teaspoon of crushed apricot kernels. For animals, letril in combination with vitamin C serves as an analgesic and immune booster. B17 is also used to treat cancer in animals.

But treating an animal with letril has several rules:

  • avoid overdose;
  • do not soak the tablets in water - the liquid releases cyanide;
  • treat under the supervision of a veterinarian.

And instead of a conclusion...

When it comes to vitamin B17, many (who, of course, know about the existence of such a substance) remember cyanide, a toxic substance found in amygdalin.

Meanwhile, chemists remind: hydrogen cyanide and cyanide are completely different substances. Hydrogen cyanide (or another name - hydrocyanic acid) is truly a dangerous substance. But hydrocyanic acid is formed from lethril only under certain conditions - under the influence of the enzyme beta-glucosidases, and in the human body it is found exclusively in cancer cells. That is, there is no oncology - no - no dangerous hydrocyanic acid.

Regarding the cyanide radical in B17, chemists do not deny this fact. But they clarify: the same element is found in B12 and in almost all berries.
