Dmitry Darin:

“Thank God, much attention is paid to the legacy of the sorcerer of the Russian poetic word in Russia: annual scientific conferences are held, works are written and dissertations are defended, state collections of works are published. And there are not so few awards named after our national poet. They were founded by various organizations - from the Moscow Government to, naturally, the Ryazan authorities. Some of these prizes have already died in the Bose, some are being awarded at the present time. However, the Sergei Yesenin Prize with the title "Oh Rus, flap your wings" stands out from this series. First, since 2005, it has been co-founded by the Writers' Union of Russia, the only professional organization with nearly a century of history. Secondly, since 2010, when the 115th anniversary of the great poet was celebrated, the literary prize “O Rus, flap your wings” has become international. International, not so much in name as in the fact of participation in it of applicants from all over the world - more than twenty in number. I, as Co-Chairman of the Prize Committee and Chairman of the Selection Jury, was incredibly pleased with the expansion of the geography of the participants, because, first of all, this confirms the depth of penetration of the Russian poetic word, the Yesenin word and, along with it, Russian spiritual culture in our selfish and non-vegetarian times. "At a time when in his homeland Yesenin was perceived almost exclusively as a village and peasant poet, foreign critics felt especially keenly that the feeling of homeland in the broadest sense of the word was fundamental in his work. Reflecting on Yesenin's poem" Transfiguration "as a patriotic work, Peter Savitsky (Petronik) wrote back in 1921: “Never, perhaps, during the entire existence of Russian poetry, from“ The Lay of Igor's Host ”to the present day, has the idea of the Motherland, the idea of Russia been so closely intertwined with lace and patterns of consonance and images ... The great spiritual mission of the national Russian poet of the XX century is that he became a figure that united the split in two Russian literature of the XX century. This mission of Yesenin was most vividly defined in 1950 by Georgy Ivanov: “On the love of Yesenin<… >two poles of the Russian consciousness, distorted and fragmented by the revolution, converge, between which, it would seem, there is nothing in common.<… >The dead Yesenin succeeded in what none of the living had succeeded in thirty-two years of Bolshevism. From the grave, he unites the Russian people with the sound of a Russian song ... ”. - ("Discourse of the Russian emigration about Yesenin"

Video recording of the solemn ceremony of awarding the prize "My Rus" for 2018

Before the ceremony, lovers of classical poetry and successors of the traditions of Sergei Yesenin's creativity gathered for the Yesenin Readings. Anyone could speak to the jury with their own works. Contests of reciting skills, which have already become traditional for events held by the Russian Union of Writers, always attract a large number of participants. And this evening was no exception - the foyer of the Great Hall was filled with inspired poets. The members of the jury of "Yesenin Readings" noted the unusual emotional intensity of the performances, the variety of the repertoire and roles of the performers as a result of the undoubted influence of the immortal poetry of Sergei Yesenin.

After the end of the Yesenin Readings, the guests and participants of the event moved to the Great Hall, where they could enjoy a literary and musical concert with the participation of the soloist of the International Shalyapin Center Elena Symon and laureate of all-Russian and international vocal competitions, soloist of the Mosconcert Pavel Bykov. The performers were accompanied by a laureate of international competitions, accompanist of the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Lyudmila Burova. The works of Sergei Yesenin were read by the theater and film actor Igor Ilyin, the official voice of the Kultura TV channel. Dmitry Lunev, laureate of all-Russian and international vocal competitions, performed a song to the verses of Sergei Yesenin.

Dmitry Kravchuk presents a collection of works by the finalists

The ceremony was opened by Dmitry Kravchuk, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the "My Rus '" Prize, President of the Russian Writers' Union:

- Today, on the birthday of the great Russian poet, this prize will be presented for the first time. The competition season was opened a year ago here, in the Central House of Writers. In the spring, on May 24, on the Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture, the presentation of the prize took place in the homeland of Sergei Yesenin, in the village of Konstantinovo, as part of the visit to the Ryazan region of Grand Duke Georgy Mikhailovich. Finally, we will find out the names of the first laureates. I would like to wish success to everyone present in this hall. Not everyone will be awarded with diplomas and awards today, but in the summer of 2017 a new season of the award started, in which you can try your hand again. From today on, the award named after Sergei Yesenin "My Rus" becomes annual. I wish you all creative success!

Svetlana Nikolaevna Shetrakova, a member of the jury of the "My Rus'" award, director of the Moscow State Museum Sergei Yesenin, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, made a welcoming speech:

- In this hall there is a large number of fans of Sergei Yesenin's work: people of different ages, professions and world outlook. We can say that there are no people who are indifferent to the great poet. It should be noted that we are just beginning to comprehend the work of Yesenin, such a natural and organic poet. Especially gratifying is the invisible presence of Sergei Yesenin at the moment when the new literary names of Russia are being celebrated. As a member of the jury, I can say that in the competition anthologies there are absolutely amazing works, very talented.

Finalists of the award "My Russia" for 2016 on the stage of the Central House of Writers

This was followed by the awarding first to the finalists, and then to the winners of the prize - the authors, especially noted by the discerning jury. Poets and prose writers received commemorative diplomas, a general photo was taken on the stage.

The diploma winners were:

  • Anatoly Lebedev - his high level was noted, “when one can determine the author by one quatrain, and by word combinations alone, one can find out that these are not just rhymed lines, but real Poetry” (expert Svetlana Shetrakova);
  • Andrey Vasiliev, whose poems are “filled with the sound of the Universe in its various manifestations” (expert Galina Sedykh);
  • Igor Grigorov - for "simplicity of expression, special acoustics and multidimensionality of time present in poetry" (expert Boris Ioganson);
  • Mikhail Svishchev - for "real man's poems, clarity of position, minimalism with a broad outlook and the ability to be aphoristic" (expert Galina Sedykh);
  • Natalya Timokhina - for the poetic and poetic calendar "Solstice" - a story that the unshakable basis of the greatness and content of the Russian soul is made up of sincere faith, selfless labor and unity with nature;

Winners of the "My Russia" award Natalia Timokhina, Mikhail Svishchev, Andrey Vasiliev, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the award Dmitry Kravchuk

The culmination of the ceremony was the announcement of the laureates of the "My Rus'" prize. For the presentation of the third prizes in the "Poems" and "Prose" nominations, the director of the Goods and Services Management Group of the Biblio-Globus Trading House took the stage, Suzanna Yurievna Mkrtycheva... She greeted the guests of the ceremony on behalf of Boris Semyonovich Yesenkin, President of the Guild of Scribes, a member of the jury for the “My Rus” prize, congratulated all those present and suggested continuing the tradition of these wonderful meetings in Biblio-Globus, the country's main bookstore:

- We would like to propose to the Organizing Committee to hold monthly literary meetings on the basis of the Biblio-Globus within the framework of the Prize “My Rus”. In addition, we will definitely post information on all finalists and laureates of the award on the Scribes Guild website.

Commemorative diplomas and statuettes of the prize were awarded to the third prize winners Maria Shuvalova (Poems nomination) and Igor Mukhanov (Prose nomination).

Jury member of the "My Rus" award, director of the Yeseninsky Museum-Reserve in Konstantinovo Boris Igorevich Ioganson this is how he appreciated the works of Maria Shuvalova presented for the competition: “Here is a rare, almost undeveloped thematic layer of Russian poetry - the sacrament of farewells, to which the very first meeting takes communion. This is, in a pure sense, feminine poems, the element of fear and expectation. You see a secret call for transitions to other facets of consciousness. "

Igor Mukhanov - poet, prose writer, essayist, collector of Russian, Buryat and Altai folklore, author of "Tales and Tales of the Zhiguli", discovered and successfully develops a new direction in literature - lyrical philosophy. The originality of his work attracted the attention of experts who gave him high marks.

Laureates of the Sergei Yesenin Prize "My Russia" Yuri Pavlov and Alexander Sizukhin, and Konstantin Petrovich Vorontsov, Leading Researcher of the State Museum-Reserve of Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin

The second prizes were presented by the leading researcher of the State Museum-Reserve Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Konstantin Petrovich Vorontsov, who noted:

- Today proves the ever-growing love for Yesenin poetry. When I got acquainted with the first ten volumes of the collection of competitive almanacs, where about 600 authors were presented, I was in awe. In the works of the participants, there was Yesenin's sincerity, a desire to be kind and love the Motherland. I will hope that the prize will grow every year.

The second prize was won by Yuri Pavlov (Poetry nomination) and Alexander Sizukhin (Prose nomination).

Jury member of the award Galina Ivanovna Sedykh expressed her expert opinion on the works of Yuri Pavlov:

- Pavlov's poems are full of peace, tranquility, lyric and heartfelt. But at the same time, the feelings of the Motherland are patriotic without exaltation. The most important thing is the longitude, duration, boundlessness of the space of the verse, similar to the Russian song on the endless fields of Russia. Pure lyrics - quiet lyrics, without touching and pretentiousness.

Alexander Sizukhin was awarded high marks by the jury for a cycle of piercingly touching prosaic miniatures, full of subtle and amazing observations.

To announce the name of the winner of the first prize, a critic, writer, publicist, winner of the Alexander Nevsky Prize and the International Lermontov Prize, a member of the jury of the Prize took to the stage Lev Aleksanrovich Anninsky:

- We stand at a crossroads. In our time, every nation is trying to find integrity and self-sufficiency. The happiness of Russia is that it has such names as the name of Sergei Yesenin in its spiritual baggage. We have someone to check our new steps with.

Laureate of the first prize named after Sergei Yesenin "My Russia" Andrei Kryuchkov and member of the jury of the award Lev Anninsky

The winner of the first prize was Andrey Kryuchkov, about whose works the expert Konstantin Vorontsov said: “A real poetic revelation. Calm, non-shouting, classically verified mastery of form, depth, spirituality, cordiality of content. Recognizable author's handwriting and style, high imagery and objectivity of the poetic language. The same magical case, the secret secret of great poetry, when familiar words and concepts become full of genuine beauty of expression under the poet's pen, penetrate directly - without any sign language translation - into the soul of the reader. "

After the announcement of the names of the laureates, the actor Igor Ilyin took the stage and read excerpts from the works of the laureates. This has also become a good tradition at the events of the Russian Union of Writers - the performance of the laureates' works on the main literary stage of the country by a famous master of words.

At the end of the ceremony of presenting the prize "My Rus", the host of the "Yesenin Readings" Elena Albul announced the names of the winners of the "Yesenin Readings". All of them received the right to participate in the competition for the award named after Sergei Yesenin "My Rus" of the 2017 season on special conditions at the expense of the Organizing Committee.

Andrey Kryuchkov, first prize winner:

- At the ceremony of awarding the prize "My Rus" I was surprised and delighted. I am happy that I won the first prize in the first competition season, and my modest work was appreciated by the jury. I live in Ryazan and am proud that the Ryazan land did not disappoint the organizers of the Sergei Yesenin Prize.

Receiving the award inspired me to new creative achievements, it is always an incentive for further creativity. Laureate status is a kind of result of my poetic activity. Now I have switched to prose and am working on a novel.

Alexander Sizukhin, laureate of the second prize in the category "Prose":

“To become a laureate of the“ My Rus ”prize is wonderful! At the time when I was at school, Yesenin did not pass, but, nevertheless, at all feasts they sang songs to his poems. I did not expect that, as I got older, I would receive the prize named after the great Russian poet. I am glad that the jury appreciated my works.

All my work is dedicated to my small homeland - I was born in the Moscow region and have lived here all my life. Ryazan is located not far from the place of my birth, here are the same landscapes, the same distance, this is what I am writing about.

It seems to me that real literature should be imbued with sincere love. I think that worthy authors, writing with love, will always be found on the portals Poems.ru and Proza.ru. For novice authors, an award is an opportunity to test your strength, to find out what mistakes you make. Creative people need momentum, and the prize can be it.

Maria Shuvalova, winner of the third prize in the "Poems" nomination:

- For me, the award ceremony was a deep shock. And great joy. I consider the establishment of the "My Rus'" prize an achievement, an indicator that Yesenin culture is reflected in modern times. Many thanks to the organizers of the award, this is a serious contribution to Russian literature.

For me, getting the status of a laureate of the "My Rus" award was a sign that I am not doing in vain. I advise future participants of the "My Russia" award to always believe in themselves and knock on all doors! Participation in awards is, first of all, communication with people, with the same authors as you, and besides, an opportunity to learn something new.

Igor Mukhanov, winner of the third prize in the category "Prose":

- I did not expect to become a laureate of the Sergei Yesenin Prize. I write in the folk style, and it seems to me that this is why the jury members liked my works. It's nice that, despite the small amount of works submitted for the competition, the commission was able to appreciate them at their true worth. This deserves special respect.

I believe that the participants of the future competitive seasons of the "My Rus'" award should be guided by the folk in their work, write easily and freely. The main thing in the works is your style, individuality.

Treat

I was, like everyone else, unsatisfied,

I was waiting, like everyone else, for my father.

The chairman poured us

A handful of oats.

Of the inviolable

Collective farm pantry

He spent pre-war

Some kind of stock.

Not at home, with a torch,

And right there, by the porch,

Hulled like seeds

We are grains of oats.

And, slowly, like guests,

They kept it in their mouths to the fullest.

And the golden awn

Burned in the wind.

An involuntary compassionate

Always hungry myself

We were stroked by the chairman

Coarse hair.

... Now on a sleepless night

I look at the scattering of stars

And I see again with my own eyes

Flowing oats.

He is in this universe

Starly high

Like a word of compassion

As a kindness lesson.
