Built-in dishwasher bosch silence plus facade. Bosch Silence Dishwasher Operating Instructions

  • The date: 29.03.2022

The Bosch dishwasher instruction manual will help the user to operate the appliance safely. The manual contains a lot of useful information: from the procedure for unpacking and installing the product to the addresses of service centers.

The most important sections of the document are safety measures when using the dishwasher, the procedure for its operation and troubleshooting on your own.

The most useful sections of the Bosch dishwasher instruction manual are those related to the technical characteristics of a particular model and the capabilities of the device.

It is important to prevent the unit from breaking down immediately after its purchase, so it is better to familiarize yourself with safety precautions before purchasing a complex apparatus.

Instructions are written separately for each model, taking into account their features, including in Russian. Compliance with the requirements will help the equipment serve for a long time.

Security measures

When receiving the goods, pay attention to the integrity of the packaging: if it is damaged, you need to make sure that the dishwasher body is in good condition.

Before turning on the dishwasher, you should compare the characteristics of the power supply at the connection point with the data of the device itself: the power consumption and the required cross-section of the supply wires. The washing unit must be securely installed and have easy access to the switching point.

During operation, it is necessary to follow the established rules:

  • cutlery should be placed point down or horizontally in the dish compartment;
  • do not place heavy items on the open door of the washing chamber, in order to avoid the machine tipping over;
  • solvents can provoke an explosion of the device, therefore it is forbidden to use it as a detergent;
  • disconnecting the unit from the water supply and electrical network is mandatory, if necessary, to carry out minor repairs.

For different models of dishwashers of the Bosch family, additional conditions may be stipulated, but the basic rules are the same for all.

Bosch Silence Plus can be called the ideal option for a safe built-in modification of a dishwasher. This model is equipped with an inverter motor, which saves electricity. The machine has 5 programs, but the main advantage is rinsing dishes with hot water. At the same time, detergent residues are effectively washed off. The device has the function of protection against children, prevents the formation of leaks and damage.

Operating Capabilities

Bosch dishwashers are produced exclusively for home use.

Detergents for them are different:

  • liquid;
  • powdered;
  • gel;
  • tableted.

The required dosage is indicated on the package.

The program is selected according to the information printed on the machine panels, taking into account the number of cutlery, the material from which they are made, and their contamination. By selecting the desired cycle, you can connect the dishwasher. To connect: open the water supply tap, the chamber door and load the plates, press the power button, select the program and press the key. The program will start as soon as the door closes.

To disconnect the dishwasher, you must wait until the end of the cycle, when the hatch is unlocked, open it completely and press the off button. Turn off the water supply, wait until the dishes have cooled down, then remove them.

Troubleshooting yourself

In the event of a breakdown of the Bosch dishwasher, you should definitely contact the service center, but first you need to make sure the complexity of the issue. To recognize a malfunction, the machine program itself diagnoses the malfunction and displays it in the form of a specific code. A complete list of assigned ciphers and their description is given in the instructions, but those that can be eliminated on your own are here:

  1. E4 - indicates problems with the flow switch, one of the reasons for this may be a clogged hose - it needs to be checked.
  2. E6 - pops up when the Bosch Silence Plus machine has a problem with the aqua sensor, which is responsible for determining the degree of soiling of dishes. This happens when the dirty heavy wash program is set for almost clean dishes.
  3. E15 - informs about the inclusion of an aquastop, which is activated when water leaks. All hoses should be checked.
  4. E17 - signals a liquid filling error. The cause may be increased pressure at the outlet of the water supply network (inlet to the dishwasher).
  5. E24 - occurs when there is poor drainage or its absence due to clogging, pinching the hose.
  6. E27 - low voltage in the electrical network, which happens during peak hours. In this case, installing a stabilizer will help.

The most common problems are related to the fact that the machine simply does not turn on, or the connection to the network occurs, but the lights do not blink. The cause of the first malfunction is problems with connecting to the mains - perhaps a fuse has blown, or a lock has worked. Make sure that the washing chamber door is closed; check whether the water supply hoses and drain filters, spray nozzles are clogged. Non-flashing indicator lights indicate that no program has been selected, and when the cycle is completed, the unit is still running.

technical care

The duration of any mechanism depends on the quality of service. It is also necessary to monitor the status of individual devices of the Bosch dishwasher:

  1. Detect scale and grease on the rocker arms: if they are found, start the cycle without loading, with detergent, in intensive mode.
  2. Check the condition of the filters after each wash. If necessary, rinse them with hot tap water, otherwise the drain pump will block from dirt and the dishwasher will need to be repaired.
  3. Wash sprinklers from scale and food so that the quality of washing does not deteriorate. These devices are removable. Running hot water is suitable for cleaning.

A more detailed description of how to care for parts of Bosch washing units can be found in the instructions for use supplied with the specific product. Following the instructions in the manual will allow you to use the dishwasher for a long time.

We have been using the machine for about 2 years, it washes dishes perfectly, it works quietly. When choosing, they paid attention to the consumption of water, electricity and a delay timer, since other functions are not particularly needed. The machine works at night and in the morning clean and warm dishes await us. We rarely use the variospeed function. Now about the front control panel: at first I was interested in this design and it seemed to me convenient to have control buttons outside and watch the timer, but this is not so, firstly, this is not necessary (everyone sleeps at night), and secondly, it gets very dirty (many prints remain) ) and thirdly, the child is also interested in all these buttons. So if I chose now, I would take the usual option with buttons on the end of the door. We have a family of three, if you are 4 or more, I would recommend a 60 cm typewriter, because sometimes not everything fits in this one. The upper spoon-fork holder is not suitable for everyone, some fall through, it is more convenient to use a basket. If you put a 5-liter pot with handles down, then it and the cutlery basket will take up more than half of the lower section and there is not much space for plates, and if you have large ones, then there will be a problem. In general, the machine is satisfied.

Dishwasher instructions

Dear visitors. To avoid clutter of materials and to make it easier to navigate through the instructions for household appliances, we have adapted the instructions for adjacent models of dishwashers. For differences in technical characteristics, we have made notes for individual models. If you did not see a special mark in the differences separately for your dishwasher model, this means that the instruction fully corresponds to the dishwasher model you are interested in.

What to buy in advance:

Salt for water softening

Detergent,

Rinsing agent. Only use dishes that can be washed in the dishwasher.

3. Water softener

To achieve good washing results, the washer must be supplied with soft, almost calcium-free water.

Otherwise, scale will form on the dishes and on the inside walls of the machine. Tap water, the calcium hardness of which exceeds the permissible value of the degree of hardness, must be purified from calcium salts before it is used in a washing machine.

Water softening is carried out with the help of special salt, which is poured into a device for reducing the hardness of water built into the washing machine. The setting of the device and the required amount of salt depend entirely on the degree of hardness of the tap water.

Device setup

The first step is to find out the value of the hardness of tap water. The water management department or the service center will help you with this.

You will determine the setting value from the water hardness table.

Press the program selection key AT 1 . After that, the key can be released. Indication 6 starts flashing, the backlight of the keys lights up BUT and AT. (Water hardness was set to 2 at the factory).

To change the setting, press the program selection key AT .

Each press increases the set value by one (adjustment range 0 to 3).

If the keys are lit BUT, AT and With, this means that the maximum allowable stiffness value is set

water.

If this value is now increased again, the key illumination lamps will turn off and the water hardness value will be reduced to 0 (none of the key illumination lamps is lit).

1 . The set water hardness value has been memorized.
It takes approx. 4 liters of water. The water consumption per wash as a result of this will increase, depending on the setting of the device, from 0 to max. 4 liters.

Water hardness table

4. Adding salt to soften water

During washing, the salt is automatically washed out of the tank where it is located and enters the water softener tank, where it dissolves the calcium salts. A solution containing calcium salts is pumped out of the machine. After that, the system is ready for operation again. The regeneration process occurs only if the salt in the water is completely dissolved.

Unscrew the cap of the container 24 .

Before putting the machine into operation, you must fill the salt container with approx. 1 liter of water. For this purpose, use the supplied salt funnel.

Load then so much salt ( but not cookery!) so that the container is full to the brim (max. 1.5 kg). When salt is loaded, water will be squeezed out of the container and overflow. Therefore, the salt must always be loaded immediately before the dishwasher is switched on (to avoid corrosion). As a result, the salt solution that has got outside will immediately be diluted with a large amount of water and fall into the sewer. After loading, remove the grains of salt remaining around the loading opening and close the container with a lid, making sure that it does not warp.

"Add salt for water softening" display 6 on the panel will light up first and go out only when the salt concentration in the water is high enough.

When setting the water hardness softener controller to "O", you do not need to add salt to the container of the device, since it is not used in this mode of operation. For settings from „1" before „3" salt is poured into the container.

A warning

Under no circumstances should any detergent enter the special water softener salt container. Otherwise, the water softener will be damaged.

"Salt addition" display

Add water softener salt when this indicator lights up on the panel. 6 .

5. How to fill in the rinse

Rinse aid is used to ensure that there are no stains on the dishes and the glasses are transparent.

Use only rinse aid intended for domestic dishwashers.

Open the lid of the rinse aid container 29 . To do this, press the marking on the cover ( 1 ) and at the same time lift the lid by grasping its tab ( 2 ).

Carefully pour the rinse aid up to the edge of the filling hole.

- Close the lid so that you can hear it click into place.
Spilled rinse aid should be collected with a cloth to prevent too much foam from forming during the next dishwashing.

Adjusting the amount of rinse aid dispensed

The amount of rinse aid supplied to the machine when washing dishes can be infinitely adjusted. The controller is set at the factory to the value 4 .

Rinse aid indication

While this indication on the lid of the container 29 remains dark, there is enough rinse aid in the container.

Indication of the need to add rinse aid.

6. Dishes not dishwasher safe

Not intended for washing in the car:

Wooden cutlery and crockery,

Painted thin glasses, antique and artistic tableware (decoration may be damaged when washing such dishes in a machine),

Plastic utensils "sensitive" to hot water,

Copper and pewter utensils.

Dishes soiled with ash, wax, grease or paint.

Items that are completely saturated with water, such as sponges and towels.

Painted glasses, aluminum and silver tableware may change color or fade when washed in the machine. Dishes made of certain types of glass (e.g. crystal) may become cloudy due to frequent washing in the machine.

In the future, please only buy dishes that are labeled as dishwasher safe.

Damage to glassware and porcelain

Causes:

Fragile grades of glass and porcelain,

Incorrect chemical composition of the detergent,

Incorrectly selected water temperature and duration of the washing program.

Use only those types of glass and porcelain, the manufacturer of which indicates that these dishes are suitable for washing in a dishwasher,

Use detergents whose packages indicate that they do not corrode the surface of the dishes,

Select a short washing program with a low water temperature.

To avoid damage, glassware and cutlery should be removed from the machine as soon as possible after the end of the programme.

7. Placement of dishes

The dishes should be cleaned of large food residues, such as bones and fruit pits, but you should not rinse them under running water. Rinse it before

running water is not required.

Arrange the dishes in the machine so that:

She stood firm and could not tip over,

All containers were located with the hole down,

Convex or concave dishes stood at an angle so that water could drain from it,

Both spray arms could rotate freely.

Very small dishes should not be washed in the dishwasher as they may fall out of the trays.

Taking out dishes

To avoid dripping from the dishes in the upper tray onto the dishes in the lower tray, it is recommended to first remove the dishes from the lower tray, and only then disassemble the upper tray.

Cups and glasses

Upper basket for dishes 20

Pot placement

Lower basket for dishes, with shelf 27

Cutlery

Cutlery should always be placed, without sorting, with the concave side down. This makes it easier for the water jet to reach the individual forks and spoons. To avoid injury, please place long, sharp utensils and knives on a shelf (available on some dishwashers) or on a knife shelf (supplied as an accessory).

Folding basket bars (on some models)

In order to place pots and bowls more successfully, the rods can be folded back.

Whatnot (in some models)

In some models, lean glasses with legs and tall glasses against the edge of the shelf, but not against the dishes.

For long cutlery, such as serving spoons, salad tongs, ladles or knives, there is also a place on the shelf where they will not interfere with the rotation of the sprinklers. The bookcase can be expanded or removed again at will.

Basket height adjustment (on some models)

Upper basket with side fixings (Rackmatic)

Pull out the top basket 20 from the car.

To lower the basket, press alternately on both latches, which are located on the left

and on the right from the outside of the basket towards the inside. At the same time, the basket should be held firmly on the side by the upper edge so that it does not fall sharply down.

To lift the basket, grab the upper edge of the basket from the side and lift it up.

Before pushing the basket back in, make sure that it is on both sides the same height. Otherwise, the machine door will not close and the upper spray arm will be disconnected from the water circulation system.

Upper basket with twin rollers at the top and bottom

Pull out the top basket 20 from the car.

Remove the upper basket and place it on the upper (level 2) or lower (level 1) rollers.

Spray head for washing trays (on some models)

With this spray head, you can wash large baking trays or grids, as well as plates with a diameter of more than 30 cm (gourmet plates, spaghetti plates, coaster plates).

To do this, remove the upper basket and install the spray head as shown in the figure.

To ensure that the jet of water can reach all the trays, they must be positioned as shown in the illustration (max. 4 trays and 2 racks).

The dishwasher must always be operated with the upper basket or the spray head for washing trays!

8. Detergent

You can use commercially available liquid and powder branded dishwasher detergents, or these products compressed into tablets (but not hand dishwashing detergent!).

The use of phosphate-free detergents with hard water can quickly lead to white deposits on dishes and container walls. More detergent will help solve this problem.

Whether the detergent is suitable for washing silver dishes is indicated on its packaging.

Detergent drawer

The markings in the detergent drawer will help you load the required amount of detergent:
bottom line: 15 ml

middle line: 25 ml

brimming: 40 ml

If the detergent compartment is still closed, open the lid by sliding the latch 28 .

Upload to branch 30 dishwashing liquid.
Dosage: See the manufacturer's instructions on the detergent packaging.

Important note

Since the tablet-compressed dishwashing detergents produced by different manufacturers dissolve at different rates, it may happen that when a short dishwashing program is selected, these detergents do not have time to fully develop their cleaning properties. Therefore, powdered dishwashing detergents are more suitable for short programmes.

In the "Intensive Wash" program (available on some models), it is enough to add only one tablet of detergent.
When using powdered detergents, it is possible that you will have to pour a little extra powder on the machine door.

If your dishes are only lightly soiled, in most cases it is recommended to load a smaller

amount of detergent than what is given in the instructions.

Close the detergent container. For this:

1. put the lid on the container,

2. press it until you hear a click.

If you are using a detergent that is compressed in the form of tablets, then read on the packaging of the product where you should put these tablets (in the cutlery basket,

into the product container, etc.). Make sure that the lid of the detergent container is tightly closed even when using tablets.

ATTENTION! IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE USE OF COMBI DETERGENTS

When using so-called combined detergents, which make it unnecessary to use rinse aid or salt, observe the following instructions:

Some products with the addition of rinse aid are most effective only with certain programs.

With devices with automatic programs, such means in most cases do not give the desired result.

Products that make the use of regenerating salt unnecessary can only be used with water of a certain hardness.

Before using this kind of combined products, carefully read the instructions for use of these products or the information on the packaging!

If in doubt, contact the manufacturer of the detergent, especially if:

At the end of the program, the dishes are very wet.

Limescale builds up.

9. Overview of programs

This list contains the maximum possible number of programs.
Programs. available in your dishwasher, you will find it on the machine's service panel.

Program selection

Depending on the type of crockery and its quantity, as well as the condition of food residues, you can use the program overview to select exactly the right washing program.

If the machine is not fully loaded, then in most cases you should choose a less intensive program than the one indicated in the instructions.

10. Washing dishes

Program Options

Program parameters (duration, water and electricity consumption) can be found in the Quick Guide. They were determined by operating the machine under normal conditions. Because of

Various amount of utensils

Fluctuations in the temperature of the water supplied to the machine,

different water pressure,

Ambient temperatures,

Mains voltage values

And the tolerances of such parameters as, for example, temperature, amount of water, etc., due to the design features of the machine, the actual parameters of the programs may differ significantly from the theoretical ones.

The water flow values were determined for a given water hardness value of two.

Switching on the dishwasher

Fully open the water tap.

Open the car door.

Turn on the machine with the main switch 1 . The display of the last selected program lights up. If no other program selection key is pressed 8 then this program is executed.

indication

If the dishwasher is disconnected from the mains during operation, for example due to a power outage or power failure, all settings remain in the machine's memory. As soon as the voltage is applied, the machine will automatically start working further.

11. Maintenance and care

Regular checks and maintenance of your dishwasher will help you avoid malfunctions. This will save you money and nerves.

General condition of the machine

Check if there are deposits of grease and scale on the rocker arms.

If you find such deposits, then:

Load the detergent into the detergent compartment. Start the empty machine by selecting the dishwashing program with the highest water temperature.

Only cleaning agents specifically designed for this purpose should be used to clean the dishwasher.

The door seal should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth.

Check the condition of the filters after every wash.

Unscrew the sieve cylinder and remove both filters. The filters are firmly connected to each other and cannot be dismantled into individual components.

Remove large dirtand rinse the filters in running water.

Assembly:

Replace the filters and secure them with the sieve cylinder.

Sprinklers

Sprinkler holes and bearings 22 and 23 can become clogged with scale and other impurities brought by water. Therefore, the following measures must be taken:

Constantly check whether the holes of the sprinklers are clogged with food residues,

Bottom sprinkler if required 23 remove through the top

Top sprinkler 22 unscrew,

Rinse both spray arms under running water,

Put the sprinklers back on and fix or screw tight.

  • The main advantage of the Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher over other models is that the washed items are rinsed with hot water. Due to this, all microbes die and micro traces of detergent do not remain on the dishes.

Important! As in many other models, there is a function of protection against children, leaks and mechanical damage. This machine is completely safe to operate.

Dishwasher malfunctions

The Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher, like other household appliances that are intended for a variety of purposes, sooner or later informs its owner about a device failure. There are special error codes, knowing which, you can evaluate the malfunction.

Important! At the slightest inconsistency, you are able to fix the damage yourself. In more complex cases, you should think about calling a wizard or contacting a service center.

So, let's take a closer look at all the error codes for the Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher.

E1

Code E1 means that the water heating function does not work in the machine.

Causes of error E1:

  • the heating element is out of order;
  • failure of the module that reports the operation of the heat heating element.

To eliminate this shortcoming, you need to check the thermostat and the protective sensor that reports the flow of water. It is also worth paying attention to the water intake sensor in the device.

E2

This code means that a temperature sensor error has occurred. It needs to be broken. This sensor is located near the heating element and has a certain resistance.

E3

If an error occurs that is related to the filling level of the liquid, then the device reports this malfunction through the E3 code. In the event of this discrepancy, the water will be drained.

Causes of failure of E3:

  • failure of the pump, which is responsible for draining the water;
  • the aquastop hose is defective;
  • the filter is clogged;
  • the pressure switch is broken.

E4

Code E4 indicates that the Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher has a malfunction in the liquid flow switch. Simply put, water is not properly distributed throughout the entire volume of household appliances - it doesn’t get into some compartment, but somewhere to a greater extent. Two factors can be the cause of a breakdown:

  • engine malfunction;
  • hose clogging.

You can fix the error yourself only in the second option.

Important! Repairing a dishwasher, depending on the breakdown, can be quite expensive. If you decide to purchase new equipment and not spend money on repairs, on our site of useful tips you will find detailed reviews of the most famous brands of cars:

E5

Fault E5 signals the owner of the unit that the liquid filling level in the device has been exceeded. This can happen due to a broken pressure switch or exhaust valve.

E6

Dishwasher Bosch Silence Plus - a malfunction with code E6 informs the owner of the equipment that there are problems with the Aquasensor. They can occur if the dishes are not heavily soiled, but a program for very dirty dishes is selected. Then there is a saving of liquid and electricity.

Important! The “Aquasensor” function is responsible for the contamination and hardness of the water, so the device can independently determine the degree of contamination of your dishes.

E8

Mismatch E8 signals a too low liquid level in the sump. During this breakdown, the circulation pump does not work and the water does not heat up.

Code E9

An error with the symbol E9 reports a malfunction of the heating element, as a result, the water does not heat up. To determine the complexity of the breakdown, it is necessary to check if there is a break in the heating element.

E11

Fault E11 tells you that the PMM is operating without a heater. In this plan, an error occurred in the power supply or contacts. To fix it, it is better to contact the service center.

E14

In the Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher, error E14 sometimes occurs. With such a discrepancy, the pulses do not go to the sensor of the circulation pump.

E15

Fault E15 indicates that Aquastop has turned on. This function is activated when there is a water leak. That is why it is necessary to immediately check all pumps and hoses.

E16

Code E16 means that an unauthorized intake of water is taking place in the device. At the initial stage, it is necessary to check the water intake and filling sensor.

Important! A common cause is too much foaming due to poor quality detergent or overdosing.

E17

The code in the Bosch Silence E17 dishwasher signals to the owner that a water inlet error has occurred in the device. To eliminate this shortcoming, it is necessary to check the flow sensor. Another reason is too high inlet pressure.

Important! If E18 symbols appear, do not take any action. Wait for the program to finish.

Symbols E21 on the display

If you see that an E21 error has occurred on your display, then be aware that this is a problem with the pump that is responsible for draining the water.

To eliminate this shortcoming, it is necessary to check the pump impeller, suddenly any debris got into it. If there is no clogging, then you need to think about replacing the pump, which simply could wear out.

E24

With such an error, poor or no water is drained at all. The cause may be debris, dirt, or a blocked hose.

E27

If the E27 symbols appear on the Bosch Silence Plus dishwasher, you should know that the voltage in the mains is too low. This happens during rush hour. If this problem occurs, you should think about buying a stabilizer.
