What is aromatherapy and how to become beautiful, slim and sexually attractive with the help of essential oils. Types of essential oils and their uses.
Already several millennia ago, the ancients knew about the beneficial effects of essential oils on human health and beauty. Even in the Old Testament, one could find mention of such incense as sandalwood, myrrh, frankincense, and the ancient Egyptians widely used essential oils for embalming, medical and cosmetic purposes. Hippocrates, Avicena and Galen described in their writings the full range of incense applications and argued that with the help of essential oils you can defeat any disease.
Types of essential oils
According to the effect on the body, essential oils are divided into cleansing, stimulating, toning, relaxing, harmonizing, strengthening, refreshing, stimulating, soothing.
- Cleansing essential oils include geranium, lavender, lemongrass, sweet orange, tuberrose, rosemary, sage, and lemon.

Any essential oil can have several characteristics. For example, using peppermint essential oil for aromatherapy will give you a stimulating, refreshing, firming and toning effect. When composing aromatic mixtures, be sure to take into account the effect of each component, so as not to use, for example, tonic and soothing oils in one composition.
Aromatherapy rules
Do not apply essential oils to the skin and mucous membranes directly from the bottle. Any oil must be diluted in base oil, salt or honey before use. In its pure form, only lavender and tea tree essential oils can be applied to the skin. All others can provoke severe burns to the skin and mucous membranes.
Do not exceed dosage. If the instructions say that you need to take 1-2 drops of cinnamon essential oil per 10 ml of base oil, then drip just that much. Excessive dosage is fraught with allergies or burns.
Be sure to check for allergies before using a new ester.
If you are just starting to master aromatherapy, then halve the recommended dose of essential oils. If after several applications of negative reactions, allergies, discomfort does not arise, then you can safely use the full dose.
Focus on your own feelings. No matter how useful and miraculous the oil is, but if you do not like its aroma, then you will not get the benefits of aromatherapy.
Methods for using essential oils
Essential oils are used for cold inhalation, in aroma lamps, for baths, massage. They can be taken orally and mixed with various masks and creams.
For cold inhalation, ether can be inhaled either from a bottle, or oil can be applied to a cloth, or dropped into a special Mahold inhaler. Inhalation is carried out with closed eyes for no more than 5 minutes. At the same time, try to breathe evenly, slowly and deeply.
Before adding ether mala to the bath, it is pre-mixed with a base or emulsifier. The base can be any base oil that suits your skin type, such as olive, almond or walnut. The emulsifier is sea salt, milk, honey or bubble bath. The water in the bathroom should not be scalding hot, otherwise the esters will quickly evaporate and you will not get any benefits from the procedure.
When using an aroma lamp, you first need to pour hot water into it, light a special candle and only then add oil. Depending on the type of ether, the number of drops varies from 1 to 3. The aromatization of the room is carried out after having closed all windows and doors. The aroma lamp should not be ignited for more than 20 minutes.
For massage, the essential oil is preliminarily diluted in the base oil and only then applied to the skin. The combination of massage and aromatherapy has a beneficial effect on the respiratory organs and skin. During an aromatic massage, blood circulation improves, lymph congestion accelerates, and the work of all organs improves.
Essential oils can be enriched in the composition of ready-made creams and face masks. The oils should be added to the cosmetic product just before being applied to the skin. Esters will help to quickly transport the beneficial substances of cosmetic products to the skin cells and enhance the effect of the cosmetic product several times.

V. Essential oils-aphrodisiacs

A skillfully selected essential oil or essential mixture can turn a reserved man from a brutal macho, and a shy girl into a sexy tigress.
The most famous aphrodisiac oils are: bergamot, cloves, vetiver, jasmine, ylang-ylang, green coffee, cedar, cypress, cassia, cinnamon, nutmeg, sandalwood, myrrh, thyme, bigardia, rose, rosemary, patchouli, coriander, basil, marigolds, violet, vanilla, cloves , coriander, lime, nutmeg, ginger, palmarosa, tuberose, sage, fennel, verbena, grapefruit, rosewood, neroli, marjoram, juniper, myrtle, citronella, cardamom, pine, geranium.

Oils that affect hormone production include jasmine and sandalwood. Among aphrodisiac oils there is no clear gradation for men and women, you need to focus on whether the scent is pleasant to you and what emotions it evokes in you.
To create an intimate mood, you can pre-scent the room with essential oils. Light the burner or put a drop of oil on the candle, being careful not to hit the wick. You can scent a room with a spray bottle and a mixture of water, alcohol and 3-5 drops of any essential oil. Essential oils of patchouli, ylang-ylang, nutmeg, ginger or lemon are well suited for aromatizing a room before love games. Take an essential oil bath before a romantic date. The skin will acquire a light sensual scent that your loved one will hear only when they get close to you. The thinner and more unobtrusive the aroma, the more stimulating effect it has on partners. Baths with essential oils of patchouli, neroli or ylang-ylang will help to awaken sensuality. These oils are considered to be the most powerful aphrodisiacs that have an equally strong effect on both women and men. Essential oils can be added to the bath, either individually or by mixing several types. Add a drop of sandalwood, rose, bergamot or sage essential oils to the emulsifier. Focus on your own feelings from the mixture, you should like it and evoke pleasant associations.
Aphrodisiac oils can be used in place of perfume. Feel like a witch and combine in one bottle 10 ml of base oil with 2 drops of jasmine, 2 drops of rose, 1 drop of sandalwood and 1 drop of bergamot. This magical mixture will not leave indifferent any man. But for your loved one, you can make such a love perfume: mix 10 ml of almond oil, 3 drops of sandalwood, 2 drops of cedar and 1 drop each of ylang-ylang and patchouli. Store these mixtures in a dark glass bottle and apply to energy spots before a romantic date.
Sensual mixture for erotic massage: Mix 20 ml almond or nut oil, 4 drops of rose oil, 2 drops each of geranium and cinnamon oil. Transport oils are vegetable oils both in liquid form (olive, peach, sea buckthorn oil) and in solid form (for example, shea butter or coconut oil). They provide a transport role, that is, they help to penetrate the essential oil into the body. In addition, the base oils have a mild therapeutic effect.

Update: October 2018
Aromatherapy with essential oils is a therapeutic direction based on the natural properties of natural aromas that can harmonize various processes, increase the protective properties of the body and normalize the emotional background.
Aromatherapy means are essential oils - mixtures of aromatic substances of plant origin, which have the ability to distill with water vapor and evaporate in the air. Aromatherapy oil penetrates well into the body both through the skin (during massage, baths, compresses, with cosmetic preparations) and through the respiratory system. Today, about 100 of their types are used for therapeutic purposes.
The chemical composition of oils has been studied quite well: only one type contains a huge list of inorganic and organic substances (120-500).
During production, natural essential oils are not subjected to any chemical processing and mixing with other substances, therefore they are a 100% natural product, provided that they are not counterfeit.
A bit of history
The sense of smell is one of the most acute in the world. The study of the world of aromatic plants is rooted in the deep past. The spheres of use were very wide: in mystical and religious ceremonies, in perfumery, cosmetology, for the aromatization of premises, for healing and for many other purposes, fragrant extracts from plants were used. Own collection of aromatic oils was a sign of high society and a real luxury item.
Today, natural scents are used in almost every family for deodorizing and disinfecting indoor air, raising mood, and also for therapeutic purposes.
Mechanism of action on humans
Essential oils exert their effect in 2 ways: neuro-reflex and humoral.
- Nerve-reflex is realized through the nerve receptors, which are located on the nasal mucosa: they receive, recognize the smell and send information to the central nervous system.
- The humoral pathway is realized through a dense network of capillaries located in the respiratory tract. Essential oil molecules quickly enter the bloodstream and also have an effect on the body.
These two mechanisms are combined with the ability to change the electromagnetic field, which explains the ability of aromatic substances to influence both the nervous system and hormonal status. Some doctors equate the action of aromatic substances with the mechanism of hormones because of their rapid therapeutic effect.
All essential oils are:
- effective antiseptics: quickly destroy bacteria and viruses;
- anti-inflammatory substances: they also quickly reduce the severity of the inflammatory reaction;
- adaptogens;
- stimulants of immune processes.
In addition, essential oils can stimulate or calm the nervous system, harmonize the emotional and mental spheres, normalize the digestive tract and other systems, have antitumor activity, and improve the condition of hair and skin. Many substances are powerful erotic stimulants.
The beneficial effect of essential oils is possible only when they are natural, of high quality and are applied in compliance with the dosage. Natural substances do not have significant side effects, do not cause allergies (with the exception of individual hypersensitivity) and the body's addiction to them.
The use of aromatic oils should not exclude etiological drug therapy prescribed by a doctor and turn into thoughtless self-medication. Here, as in any other medical direction, the rule applies: do no harm! It is best to start home aromatherapy with a visit to an aromatherapist, and if we are talking about pregnant women and children, only with the permission of the doctor.
Each aroma oil is unique and has its own therapeutic spectrum. Let's consider their main types, therapeutic effects and effects on the human body, the rules of application, presented in the table for aromatherapy:

When it comes to aromatherapy for children, most of the oils cannot be used until 6 years of age, and definitely not to resort to such treatment before 3 years. In general, care should be taken to reduce the "adult" dose and exposure time by 2-3 times and in no case should be used for internal treatment. A common contraindication for all types of oils for both adults and children is individual hypersensitivity. If you have a predisposition to allergic reactions to any substances, you cannot use aromatherapy, because over time, allergies to essential oils may develop.
A combination of essential oils
Combining oils should be very careful and only with a good knowledge of all their properties, adhering to the following rules:
- you cannot combine essential oils that are opposite in properties (for example, soothing and stimulating the nervous system);
- you cannot combine more than 5 flavors;
- lavender is versatile and goes well with everyone else. Citrus, floral and conifers are combined in their own group, for example, lemon + orange;
- you need to combine oils taking into account the problem.
Features of aromatherapy at home
- Aroma lamps are special devices that are necessary for the air aromatization of premises. Before the procedure, the room should be ventilated, then the windows should be tightly closed. The lamp is filled with water, into which oil is introduced, and it is activated. The lamp can be turned on up to 4 times a day for 5-30 minutes or more.
- The use of aromatherapy for internal treatments. It is carried out only after consulting a doctor. In no case should the recommended doses be exceeded or the oil should be consumed in its pure form, without a solvent, which is honey, milk. It is optimal to take this medicine immediately after a meal. During treatment, animal food should be limited.
- Inhalation. They can be warm (when adding oils to warm water) or cold (inhaling directly from the bottle or using a special inhaler). Attention! For procedures, you must have a special inhaler that allows the use of essential oils!
- Applications and compresses... To obtain the basis for the cold procedure, the oil is dissolved in 10 ml of alcohol and impregnated with gauze or cotton wool with this composition, applied to the sore spot. To obtain hot compresses, the oil is mixed with warm water or vegetable oil.
- Rinsing, douching, washing mucous membranes carried out strictly according to the recommendations for the use of a particular oil.
- Aroma massage. The oils are used diluted (with vegetable oil). A warm shower is shown before the massage, and after the massage, you need to lie down quietly for half an hour.
- Aromatic baths. One of the most effective aromatherapy treatments, as the essential oil quickly enters the lymph flow through the skin.
- Baths can be shared or local and take place 3 hours after meals.
- Before taking a bath, you should wash without the use of store gels and soaps, but with bran, egg white.
- The water in the bath should be about 38 C, into which oil diluted in a solvent is introduced and the procedure is taken for 5-35 minutes.
- After the bath, it is advisable to dry naturally and lie down for about 30 minutes.
- You can not drink alcohol, coffee, tea.
- Treatment course: 10-20 procedures.
To prevent the oil from spoiling, it is stored in a dark and cool place, away from children, with a tightly closed lid.
There is a strict limitation for this pleasant treatment: several procedures with aromatic oils cannot be done on the same day!
1. First of all, the dynamics of the aroma should be assessed: violent, hot (stimulant), confidential, warm (adaptogen) or calm, cooling (calming). Choleric people and people prone to high blood pressure should proceed from the minimum dosages of hot aromas (ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, thyme, cloves), and melancholic and hypotonic people - from relaxing aromas (sandalwood, lavender, jasmine). Adaptogens (neroli, leuzea, petit grain, tangerine) can be used without restrictions.
2. You should familiarize yourself with the information about this essential oil (in the description).
3. You should always start your acquaintance with a new essential oil with one drop.
4. For people with a history of allergies, a three-day aroma test for individual tolerance is required. On the first day, you should apply one drop on a handkerchief or aromatherapy medallion and bring it to your nose 4-5 times during the day, making 7-10 breaths. On the second day, a test for the skin tolerance of aromatic hydrocarbons is carried out: mix essential oil with vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 5 and apply to the bracelet area of the wrist. On the third day, it is advisable to take a bath with 1-2 drops of essential oil. The duration of the procedure is 5 minutes. If within three days there was no pain in the eyes and lacrimation, sore throat, redness of the skin at the site of application of the essential oil, feeling of nausea, then the aroma that you tested will not be allergenic and dangerous for you.
Dosage
1. All dosages of essential oils are drip - not bottled, moreover, not barrel !!!
2. You should start using essential oils with the smallest doses, perhaps they will be sufficient for you. There is no arithmetic average person in the world, therefore, it is advisable, out of respect for your individuality, to gradually reduce the dosage even relative to the recommended ones. Moreover, the resistance (susceptibility) to essential oils increases over time. So, starting with one drop, we gradually get used to five, and then we feel great from three.
3. Usually women require higher dosages than men.
4. Children love essential oils for their aroma and quick help in difficult times. The effectiveness of aromatherapy in pediatrics is very high. However, it is important to remember that children's dosages are lower than adults: for example, for children under 12 years of age, drops of essential oil from the annotation (initially diluted by 50% of the base base) are multiplied by a factor of 0.12 and by the child's age (full years). (So, for 3 years: we multiply five drops by 0.36 = 1.8. Rounding up, we get: 2 drops of 50% essential oil).
5. The dosage of essential oils for the elderly and pregnant women is always half the average dosage.
6. The concentration of essential oils in aromatherapy machines is on average 5 drops per 15 m2.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
1. Essential oils are concentrated substances consisting of alcohols, phenols, ketones, aldehydes, terpenes, ethers, therefore, their use, with rare exceptions, requires dilution (vegetable oil, alcohol, cosmetic product, honey, yogurt, wax).
2. The nose and skin adore scents, but the eyes, on the contrary, cannot stand direct contact with essential oils. You should always remember this.
3. Essential oils are most often treated as a dessert additive or spice, rather than as breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their use on an empty stomach is undesirable (with rare exceptions).
4. If you use fragrances for cosmetic purposes, do not add essential oil all at once to the entire cream jar or shampoo bottle. Better to enrich cosmetics with fragrances, putting a small amount of the base in a separate container. So you can always be sure that the composition of the prepared mixture has not changed during the interaction of the components of the essential oil and the cosmetic preparation. In addition, it is always useful to make sure whether this fragrance in the selected concentration is suitable for your skin (hair).
5. The first two times it is advisable not to take a bath for more than five minutes. Do you feel great after your bath? You can gradually increase the time.
6. When using essential oils in an aromatherapy machine, the first two sessions should not be longer than 20 minutes.
7. During pregnancy and epilepsy, the use of essential oils is possible only under the supervision of specialists in this field of medicine.
8. Do not get carried away with stimulating aromas before bed, unless you are going to perform feats all night.
9. When taking aromas in the form of baths, massage or inside, you should always drink plenty of fluids (at least 2 liters per day).
10. Oils with pronounced peppery, spicy tones can irritate the skin (D. Wabner).
11. Hyperemia (redness) of the skin in response to the application of essential oil often occurs in people with very light skin, in this sense, dark-skinned people are more fortunate.
12. Some essential oils are phototoxic because they stimulate the hypertrophied formation of melanin, which harms the quality of the pigment itself. It manifests itself 48 hours after sunbathing. At the site of the fragrance application, a large, unevenly delineated spot of a very dark tan color appears (do not confuse spots from photosensitization of the skin with pigmented spots!).
WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE AROMATIC PROBLEMS?
1. If the essential oil accidentally gets into the eye, then it should be washed first with eye drops ("Sofradex", "Albucid") or purified oil (macadamia, olive, corn), and then warm boiled water, and then put on the affected eye eye ointment "Hydrocortisone".
2. If you apply an essential oil to the skin that provoked irritation, apply to this area macadamia oil mixed with hyssop, rose or rosewood in a ratio of 1: 3.
3. If the intake of essential oils inside is accompanied by heartburn, belching, a prolonged sensation of aromatic taste, the dosage should be reduced by a factor of thori, the aroma should be taken strictly on a full stomach and washed down with kefir, yogurt or juice with pulp.
4. If the skin shows a solar reaction to the aroma, the following mixture should be applied to this area every night in the form of a compress for 3 weeks: 1 tablespoon of kefir + 2 drops of rose essential oil. The stain will gradually lighten and disappear after 2-3 weeks.
DURATION AND CAPACITY
1. There is no cellular, tissue, organ or systemic addiction to aromas, since there is no pharmacological dependence on aromatic hydrocarbons. With the simultaneous emptying of a vial with your favorite oil and a wallet with "perishable metal", the drug withdrawal syndrome does not occur. Although there is a slight sadness - a companion of parting with what you love - this is natural.
2. According to all the canons of nature, it is advisable to use the same essential oil for no more than 21 days and then continue using it after a break (7-14 days), but no more than three times a year. During this time, the body assimilates aromatic information using trained self-regulation mechanisms. Typically, after a break, dosages should be reduced by 25% as fragrance resistance increases.
3. To avoid aromatic "mess" should not be taken orally more than 7 drops of any essential oils per day.
4. The science of mixing aromas requires deep immersion, so you should remember the mixing rule: optimal household compositions consist of at least two, and at most seven essential oils.
5. Regarding aromatic stimulants, the rules are more categorical: their use is strictly symptomatic. If you need to get ready before an exam (negotiations, taking an important step), you should take a bath with lemongrass. Overwork is another matter. A whip is not the best way to fight fatigue, a pillow and blanket (as well as incense, lavender, sandalwood, chamomile, valerian) are much more effective.
AROMATIC CAUTION
In addition to clean water and air, there are no substances and objects in the world that are suitable for absolutely everyone. So, for one housewife, a grater is a tool for preparing delicious salads, and for another, it is the cause of abrasions on her hands.
Essential oils are no exception.
So, here are twenty-two reasons why you need to be careful when using fragrances.
People with epilepsy and fur-like schizophrenia: the presence of organic brain lesions, the so-called "white spots" of higher nervous activity, may manifest itself in an inadequate response to aromatic impulses. Therefore, the question of the use of aromas is within the competence of the treating psychiatrist. The list of essential oils that are absolutely harmless for this group of people is very small: lavender, orange and lemon.
Pregnant women: the question of the use of essential oils in this case is a very delicate topic. The easiest way is to slam the door leading to aromatic joys in front of a woman awaiting the birth of babies. But if you approach it less formally, then we can say that the careful use of certain essential oils is not only permissible, but also desirable during pregnancy: orange, bergamot, geranium (carefully), jasmine (carefully), cajaput, lavender (carefully), incense ( be careful), leuzea, limet, lemon, mint (be careful), nioli, neroli, petite grain, rose, rosewood, chamomile (be careful), pine (be careful), tea tree, eucalyptus.
Phototoxic essential oils: orange, grapefruit, leuzea, limette, lemon, tangerine, petite grain, rosemary, thyme. Do not apply to skin immediately before sunbathing. However, the internal use of all these oils contributes to a more effective and faster tanning, prevents burning and staining.
Essential oils that irritate the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract: anise, bay, verbena, geranium, oregano, jasmine, ginger, cedar, pine, patchouli, palmarosa, fir, rosewood, citronella, thyme. Never take on an empty stomach! Do not take more than 3 drops of essential oil per day! Mix essential oils with honey, jam, vegetable oil, wine and drink 200 g of acidified water, tea, juice, kefir, yogurt. With gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, it is better to abandon the internal use of these aromas.
Essential oils requiring caution in case of increased blood clotting: anise, basil, hyssop, cypress. In any case, the continuous use of these fragrances should not exceed 21 days, after which the minimum break is 14 days.
Essential oils requiring caution for frequent seizures: hyssop, rosemary.
Essential oils requiring caution in high-grade hypertension: bay, cloves, oregano, ginger, cinnamon, juniper, nutmeg, rosemary, citronella, schizandra, thyme, sage. The use of these aromas is possible when the dosage is adjusted: 12 - 13 to the average dose. Often the vascular reaction to aroma is of a temporary adaptive nature and disappears after 5-10 days.
Essential oils used with caution in hypotension: valerian, jasmine. The use of these aromas requires a dosage adjustment: 12 - 13 from the average. Often the vascular reaction to aroma is of a temporary, adaptive nature and disappears after 5-10 days.
Essential oils used with caution for insomnia: nutmeg, sage, schizandra, citronella, thyme. You should not use these fragrances after 6 pm, unless you are going to go to bed after 5-6 hours, and not later.
Essential oils, prolonged inhalations of which lead to overexcitation: cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, schizandra, sage, thyme. Do not burn continuously for more than 4 hours!
Essential oils, the use of which is undesirable in case of nervous exhaustion: cloves, cedar, cinnamon, nutmeg, schizandra, citronella, sage.
Relaxation aromas, the use of which is undesirable before performing actions that require active mobilization of mental and physical activity: valerian. Using the properties of this oil is possible 4-5 hours before an event that requires concentration, determination and concentration.
Essential oils that can cause skin irritation: bay, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, rosemary, cinnamon, fir, citronella, thyme, schizandra, eucalyptus. For hypersensitive skin types, these fragrances should be diluted in the following proportion: 1 drop per 15 g of base.
Essential oils that cause a short-term but intense burning sensation of the skin: orange, verbena, cloves, oregano, cinnamon, tangerine, juniper, nutmeg, rosemary, citronella, thyme.
Essential oils not compatible with alcohol: cedar, thyme.
Essential oils not compatible with homeopathic medicines: mint, chamomile. The dominant character of these aromas "cancels" the effect of homeopathic remedies.
Fragrances that can trigger transient laryngitis (hoarseness): melissa, schizandra. The duration of unpleasant symptoms is about 2 hours.
Essential oils that are energetically incompatible with karmic diseases (neoplasms, psoriasis): incense, cypress.
Essential oils that are undesirable to use continuously for more than two to three weeks: anise, basil, hyssop, geranium, cinnamon, cypress, lemon balm, juniper, nutmeg, pine, citronella, thyme, sage.
Essential oils that weaken the sex drive of men: mint.
Naturally, the minimum concentration of various components in one drop of essential oil is a guarantee of the absence of side effects; however, always, when choosing your essential oil, you must take into account your problems.
Aromatherapy is an aesthetic technique. A sense of proportion is a sign of high taste.

The mention of the "sun apple" - an orange - is found in Chinese manuscripts from 2200 BC. NS. It grows in southern Italy, USA, Brazil, Spain, Israel. To this day, its essential oil is obtained from the peel of a sweet orange by cold pressing. The Arabs were the first to describe the medicinal value of orange oil. It is one of the most popular products in the production of various drinks, sweets and cakes. Along with the antiseptic effect typical of citrus plants, it also has a strong soothing effect. It has an excellent effect on depression, anxiety, nervous tension, insomnia, fever, muscle spasms, cramps and convulsions.
Blends containing orange oil should not be applied to the skin just before sun exposure. Orange oil deteriorates quickly. It is kept tightly closed in the refrigerator.
Carnation
This oil is isolated from the flower buds of the evergreen clove tree native to the Philippines. The shape of the buds resembles a nail 1-1.5 cm long. Hence the name of the plant. It belongs to the oldest known spices in India, Indonesia, China and Egypt.
One of the first doctors to use cloves to treat patients was Hippocrates. It was recommended to people when they were experiencing cold or suffering from heat (to normalize heat transfer). In the II century. Chinese courtiers were ordered to hold cloves in their mouths to eliminate the bad smell in the presence of the emperor. Medieval authors prescribed it for headaches, migraines, dropsy and deafness that arose after a cold. Adding cloves to boiled beef kept it refrigerated for 24 hours.
Clove oil is a powerful antiseptic. In the 1920s, Doctor V.A. Briggs used it to disinfect the hands of surgeons, obstetricians and hospital staff, as well as operating rooms. In obstetric practice, this essential oil has been used to ligate the umbilical cord. Subsequently, it turned out that clove oil also regulates fat metabolism and the work of the gastrointestinal tract, stimulates mental activity, increases immunity and blood pressure. It has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Clove oil is powerful. It should not be used by children and adolescents under 15 years of age.
Geranium
Cedar
The homeland of the Atlas cedar is North Africa. Since ancient times, it has symbolized fertility and abundance. Largely thanks to cedar oil, unique Egyptian papyri have survived to this day. Thoroughly impregnated with cedar resin, they are still not damaged by microbes and insects. Atlas cedar should be distinguished from Himalayan, Lebanese and Siberian. By the way, the last one, whose nuts we love so much, is more correct to call the Siberian pine.
Atlas cedar oil is a strong antiseptic. It is effective for viral infections, colds, coughs, runny nose, bronchitis, relieves attacks of arthritis and rheumatism, has a diuretic effect (especially in cystitis and urethritis), promotes rapid healing of wounds and restores normal skin condition after infections, dandruff, acne.
Cedar nut oil is not indicated for pregnant women and people with an easily excitable nervous system. It is better to use it in small doses, given that when it comes into contact with the skin, there is a natural tingling sensation and cooling.

Below are some tips for using essential oils to prevent and treat ailments at home, first aid... Dosages can be found in the book by O.K. Libus and E.P. Ivanova “Aromatherapy. Healing oils ”.
Studies conducted by the Yalta Research Institute of Physical Methods of Treatment and Medical Climatology (V.V. Nikolavesky, V.I. Zinkovich, S.S.Soldatchenko, G.F. ... In the initial stages of any acute respiratory infection, they prevent the development of further symptoms and allow the disease to be transferred relatively easily, without complications. In case of purulent diseases of the bronchi, inhalation and a special aromatherapy chest massage increase the body's resistance and shorten the recovery period.
Essential oils are selected according to the principle of the best compatibility with each other. So they mutually enhance their healing effect. With strict adherence to safety regulations, side effects are not caused.
Thus, many oils in their action are not inferior to modern expensive drugs and receive positive reviews from patients. Here are just two such pieces of evidence.
Tatiana K., 26 years old, suffered from chronic sinusitis for seven years. Exacerbations occurred annually, especially in spring and autumn, and only puncture of the maxillary sinuses and a course of powerful antibiotics took place. At the beginning of autumn 2000, when the first signs of a cold appeared, the patient first applied geranium essential oil (1 drop daily per turunda into the nasal cavity). In addition to applications, she did hot steam-wet inhalations (3 drops of tea tree essential oil per 0.5 liters of boiling water). After a few days, the discharge from the nose stopped, and the exacerbation of sinusitis was avoided. In the future, Tatiana began to regularly engage in aroma prophylaxis of her disease: she alternated essential oils of geranium, tea tree and thyme. Until now, there have been no exacerbations of sinusitis.
Nikolay A., 18 years old, suffered from chronic tonsillitis from early childhood. Sore throat bothered him often, at the slightest cold. When he once again felt that he was falling ill, his mother, in addition to the usual treatment, began to lubricate the areas of the palatine tonsils with fir oil. Along with this, Nikolai gargled with a mixture of eucalyptus and lavender essential oils (1-2 drops of the mixture per 1 glass of hot water). As a result, the state of health improved, and the tonsillitis did not worsen.
Essential oils are useful not only for somatic, but also psycho-emotional disorders. Neuro-mental balance and state of mind of a person largely depend on the sense of smell, smells of the external environment. A simple example: the smell of sweat is repellent; unpleasant, causes a feeling of disgust, up to nausea. A bouquet of fresh lilies of the valley pleases the heart, cheers up, invigorates.
Our brain perceives smells consciously and unconsciously. In some cases, certain events and places are associated with their characteristic olfactory sensations and are easier to remember. Take, for example, the smell of a stable: without seeing the building itself, it is easy to determine that it is somewhere nearby.
As shown above, the effect of essential oils on the olfactory organ irritates the corresponding nerve receptors and causes certain mental reactions. That is why aromatization of the air not only cleans and disinfects it from harmful impurities, but also helps to get rid of psychoemotional disorders. The smoking of medicinal fragrant substances by means of an aroma lamp (aroma vacuum cleaner) has a very beneficial healing effect on the entire body.
Biologically active components of essential oils effectively increase the productivity of physical education and sports. Oils help to cope with stress, fully warm up muscles, relieve excessive tension, increase flexibility, elasticity and plasticity, strengthen joints and ligaments, in a word, they well stimulate metabolism in the musculoskeletal system.
For example, the sports cream "Nikoflex" has proved itself very positively. It contains lavender oil, which increases muscle tone, relieves muscle and joint pain, attacks of arthritis and osteochondrosis. This proves the validity of using essential oils before and after exercise.
In addition to the prevention and treatment of somatic diseases, psychoemotional ailments, sports injuries and diseases, essential oils are successfully used in everyday life... We are talking about air sanitation, cleaning of premises, aromatizing clothes and protecting them from insects.
During a flu epidemic
During an epidemic of influenza and other viral infections, in order to prevent them, it is recommended to use aromas of antiseptic and antimicrobial action. First of all, these are lemon, cloves, tea tree, pine, lavender, cedar, mint. They reduce the content in the air of many viruses, bacteria, fungi carried along with dust, things, particles of phlegm and saliva. For disinfection, mix 4-5 drops of orange, pine, lavender, mint in a 3: 2: 1: 1 ratio or pine, bergamot, lemons in a 1: 2: 2 ratio. In order for the oils to evaporate, the mixture is applied to a strip of filter paper (blotting paper, napkins) and placed in the room, or they use an aroma lamp. When washing floors and wiping furniture, add 3 drops of cloves, lavender and lemon to 0.5 liters of water.
Neutralization of unpleasant odors
Aromatization will help neutralize unpleasant odors and freshen the air in the kitchen. A mixture of essential oils of lemon, mint, pine (3: 1: 1) or geranium, lavender and lemon (5: 2: 1) is useful here. When wet cleaning the kitchen, add 2 drops of lavender, lemon, eucalyptus and thyme (thyme) to 500 ml of water.
High humidity and heat in the bathroom create favorable conditions for the multiplication of various microbes, primarily fungi. In order to prevent this process, when wet in 1 liter of water, it is necessary to stir 5 drops of lavender, lemon and tea tree, or the same amount of eucalyptus, cloves, rosemary.
If there is a persistent smell of animals in the house, the room should be scented with a solution of geranium, lavender, rosemary oils (2 drops each). The litter box is flushed with 2 tablespoons of food vinegar, 3 drops of lavender, and 2 drops of rosemary.
You can put a napkin with lavender and lemon (4 drops each) in the closet to scent your linen and wear. When washing the laundry, add the same mixture to the water before the final rinse.
Insect application
Clothes will be well protected from moths and other harmful insects with cotton swabs moistened with cedar and lavender (2 drops each). The tampons are laid out in linen boxes, and every 2 weeks they are wetted again with the named essential oils.
If you need to get rid of ants, then the paths of their movement and the anthill itself are periodically sprayed with the following mixture: 20 drops of mint and 10 drops of lavender are dissolved in 25 ml of alcohol, and then in 250 ml of water. Shake the solution before use.
To scare away mosquitoes and flies, 5 drops of cloves, mint and lavender are placed in an aroma lamp (aroma burner).
Conclusion
These are some guidelines for using essential oils. It should be remembered that in aromatherapy, great importance is attached to an individual approach to each patient. Ready-made and immutable schemes are not always appropriate. The main thing is to create a unique composition of aromas that best suits a given person. Therefore, these tips are more likely information for thought, a guideline than rigid rules that cannot be changed.
Try it yourself, see from your own experience which is best for you. And of course act under the supervision of your doctor, always taking into account the principles of use, characteristics and possible side effects of essential oils.
