"Atarax" and "Grandaxin" - the difference in means and which is better. Which is better: Atarax or Grandaxin

  • Date: 20.04.2019

The term “anxiolytics” is literally translated from Latin as a dissolution of an anxiety state. Anxiolytic drugs are included in the group of tranquilizers, otherwise they are referred to as "small tranquilizers", "ataractics", antineurotic and psychosedative drugs.

Anxiolytics lead to "calm" of those areas of the brain that are responsible for emotions. Some drugs also lead to a relaxation of the muscles of the skeleton; they have a muscle relaxant effect on the striated muscles. When using anxiolytics to treat people with vegetovascular dystonia, they achieve:

  • reduce anxiety and fear;
  • reduce emotional instability and tension;
  • elimination of obsessive thoughts, phobias and hypochondria;
  • decrease in excitability.

A number of anxiolytics are endowed with sleeping pills. With the systemic use of drugs, falling asleep improves, and the duration of sleep increases.

The muscle relaxant effect of drugs is considered positive in the treatment of vegetovascular disorders. Anxiolytics relieve mental and motor arousal. At the same time, this effect of drugs can limit their appointment to patients whose work requires an instant reaction.

Of the anxiolytic drugs in the treatment of vegetoneurosis, benzodiazepine derivatives are used. In addition to the anti-anxiety effect, they are endowed with a calming, anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant and mild hypnotic effect.

Anxiolytic drugs are divided as follows:

  • long-acting drugs - Phenazepam, Medazepam;
  • drugs with an average duration of the main effect - lorazepam, nozepam;
  • minimum-acting drugs - Midazolam.

Most of these drugs have side effects, manifested by increased drowsiness, weakness, and decreased memory. Therefore, their use in the treatment of VVD in some cases is limited.

A small sedative, hypnotic and muscle relaxant effect are endowed with:

  • Dipotassium cllorazepate;
  • Tofisopam;
  • Mebicar.

Therefore, these drugs are used as daytime tranquilizers.

Patients with VVD are mainly prescribed:

  • Phenazepam;
  • Grandaxin;
  • Adaptol.

Treatment with these drugs over an extended period leads to addiction and dependence. To avoid this, the course of therapy should be minimal or intermittent, that is, with the cessation of taking the drugs for several days and with their subsequent use in the same dosage.

Appropriate anxiolytics are prescribed by the mechanism of action, first in the smallest dosage, then it is gradually increased until a therapeutic effect can be achieved. Dose reduction is also carried out gradually. Take these drugs only as prescribed by your doctor.

Anxiolytics are incompatible with alcohol and can enhance the effects of other drugs. A doctor should prescribe these drugs, evaluating all manifestations of the VSD and the psychoemotional status of a person.

Fenazepam

Patients with VSD Phenazepam is prescribed if the disease is accompanied by:

  • fears;
  • increased anxiety;
  • anxiety
  • panic;
  • sleep disturbance.

Phenazepam is used both one-time to eliminate anxiety, and a specially selected course. More often it is used in tablet form. The standard treatment regimen is 0.5 g (one tablet once a night). In severe disorders, the drug takes 3 tablets per day during the first days, then, after removing the main symptoms, they switch to a maintenance dose.

The above dosages, depending on the condition of the patient, can be reduced by the doctor or increased. Self-selection of a dose is fraught with increased anxiety or even confusion due to overdose.

Phenazepam has an extensive list of contraindications. The drug is not prescribed:

  • pregnant
  • during lactation;
  • children under 18 years old;
  • in a state of shock;
  • with myasthenia gravis.

With caution, it is used for depression and treatment of the elderly and patients after a stroke.

Grandaxin

The main active ingredient of Grandaxinum is Tofizopam. The drug is endowed with an anti-anxiety effect. This feature of Grandaxin allows you to assign it to patients with VVD in the daytime.

The medicine does not lead to a deterioration in the concentration of attention and does not inhibit the reaction, which allows not to limit the use of anxiolytic for people working in transport and with complex mechanisms.

Prolonged course use of Grandaxin is not addictive and withdrawal. The medicine stabilizes the psychological balance and is used to prevent panic attacks.

Grandaxinum is appointed if the VVD is accompanied by:

  • fears, nervous strain, increased fatigue, lethargy, apathy;
  • depressive reaction to stressful situations;
  • increased nervous excitability of women during menopause;
  • chest pains;
  • withdrawal syndrome.

Grandaxin is not used:

  • if the VSD occurs with severe manifestations of depression, unmotivated aggressiveness, psychomotor agitation;
  • in the first three months of pregnancy;
  • if symptoms of apnea are recorded, including carotid;
  • when taking psoriasis medication;
  • against the background of organic pathology of the brain (oligophrenia, encephalopathy).

Grandaxinum is one of the best drugs for the treatment of vegetoneurosis. But the medicine can cause unwanted side reactions in the form of headaches, sleep disturbances, allergic reactions and digestive problems. To reduce the likelihood of their occurrence, the drug is taken at the dosage that the doctor prescribed. Grandaxin's evening reception should be no later than 17 hours.

Adaptol

With VVD, the drug is used if the disease is accompanied by neurosis and anxiety. The tranquilizing effect of the drug is not accompanied by muscle weakness and impaired attention, and this is what makes Adaptol a day anxiolytic.

The medicine, in addition to the main action, has the following effect on the body:

  • nootropic, that is, improves the functioning of brain cells;
  • cerebroprotective - protects brain cells from the effects of adverse factors;
  • antioxidant (reduces peroxide stress).

With a course intake, Adaptol normalizes the content of endogenous, that is, its own alcohol in the body. This action of the drug allows it to be used if the VSD occurs against a background of alcohol or nicotine addiction. When taking Adaptol, getting rid of bad habits is easier.

The drug does not lead to addiction and drug dependence, but cancel it in the same way as another tranquilizer, gradually, over the course of a week.

The course of taking Adaptol is from several weeks to 3-4 months. A single pill is possible to eliminate anxiety, the therapeutic effect begins after 30 minutes.

Atarax

Atarax also belongs to the group of tranquilizers used in the treatment of VSD. A medicine is prescribed if manifestations of dystonia are accompanied by:

  • increased irritability;
  • psychomotor agitation;
  • anxiety
  • itchy skin.

Atarax is endowed with an antiemetic and hypnotic effect. The therapeutic effect occurs even when using the drug in a small dosage. Eliminates withdrawal symptoms in chronic alcoholics.

Contraindications for the appointment of Atarax include:

  • period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • galactose intolerance;
  • myasthenia gravis.

Atarax helps if urticaria, eczema develops against the background of VVD. The medicine copes with night fears, improves the depth of sleep and increases its duration.

Dosage and course of use of anxiolytics are prescribed only by a doctor. During treatment, it is important to take into account all the nuances of using small tranquilizers, you can not interrupt therapy on your own or refuse it. When prescribing drugs, the doctor takes into account contraindications, the use of other medicines and the main manifestations of the VSD.

    i had a terrible post-infarction condition. I had such anxiety, fears of night pains! I took 1/4 in the afternoon and so shared for a day, I feel better, fears, anxieties decreased, sleep became normal. I should not drink a kiss.

    I also took it, on the recommendation of a doctor. Very strong sleeping pills, it is not recommended to be taken during the day, you can fall asleep, for example, in transport. At first, I took it in the afternoon, not knowing how it works, and went to see a dentist. Ha ... fell asleep in an armchair, my mouth closed, the doctor was nervous, I got it by falling asleep. I took 0.5 tablets, it really calms. If you take the whole pill at once, you can fall asleep. And one pack is enough, so as not to get used to taking this medicine. In general, for continuous use, you should not do this. But if it’s become really straining in life, then to restore sleep or so that there is no anxiety to calm yourself, then yes. And it is mandatory only at night, during the day it is better not to take it if you are not at home, so as not to fall asleep anywhere.

    My son on the third day after taking atarax began to have a spasm of the bronchi and suffocation, it is very dangerous. Well, the ambulance managed to get there, to relieve an attack of suffocation.

Most likely, they were re-registered. Because now we can buy them in a pharmacy of hormonal drugs in Kiev. I recently bought Atarax about 40 UAH per package. And about the effect of these pills, I’ll say that they really reassure me.

    I take Atarax in moments when I am very nervous, when some problem period is coming. I read reviews about Atarax and came to the conclusion that I will take the drug, but I reduced the dose to myself by exactly half. And oh, a miracle. I began to fall asleep like all normal people, began to get enough sleep, I felt more cheerful. Now I take pills very rarely, when some kind of stress, I do not want to abuse them, still a serious drug.

There are contraindications. Consult a physician before taking it.

Atarax (Hydroxyzine) - instructions for use. Prescription drug, information is intended only for healthcare professionals!

Clinical and pharmacological group:

Tranquilizer (anxiolytic).

pharmachologic effect

Derived diphenylmethane, has moderate anxiolytic activity; also has a sedative, antiemetic, antihistamine and m-anticholinergic effect. It blocks the central m-cholinergic receptors and histamine H1 receptors and inhibits the activity of certain subcortical zones. It does not cause mental dependence and addiction. The clinical effect occurs 15-30 minutes after ingestion of the drug.

It has a positive effect on cognitive abilities, improves memory and attention. It relaxes skeletal and smooth muscles, has bronchodilating and analgesic effects, a moderate inhibitory effect on gastric secretion. Hydroxyzine significantly reduces itching in patients with urticaria, eczema and dermatitis. With prolonged use, there is no marked withdrawal and cognitive decline. Polysomnography in patients with insomnia and anxiety clearly demonstrates an increase in the duration of sleep, a decrease in the frequency of night awakenings after a single or repeated administration of hydroxyzine in a dose of 50 mg. A decrease in muscle tension in patients with anxiety was noted when taking the drug at a dose of 50 mg 3 times a day.

Pharmacokinetics

Suction

Hydroxyzine is highly absorbed from the digestive tract. Cmax is observed 2 hours after taking the drug.

After a single dose of the drug in a single dose of 25 mg or 50 mg in adults, the plasma concentration is 30 ng / ml and 70 ng / ml, respectively.

The bioavailability for oral and intramuscular administration is 80%.

Distribution

Hydroxysin is more concentrated in tissues (in particular, in the skin) than in plasma. The distribution coefficient is 7-16 l / kg.

Hydroxysin crosses the BBB and the placental barrier, concentrating more in the fetal tissues than in the mother's body. Metabolites are found in breast milk.

Metabolism and excretion

Hydroxysin is metabolized in the liver. The main metabolite (45%) is cetirizine, which is a blocker of histamine H1 receptors. The total clearance of hydroxyzine is 13 ml / min / kg. T1 / 2 in adults is 14 hours. Only 0.8% of hydroxyzine is excreted unchanged in the urine.

Pharmacokinetics in special clinical cases

In children, the total clearance is 4 times less than in adults, T1 / 2 in children aged 14 years is 11 hours, in children aged 1 year - 4 hours.

In elderly patients, T1 / 2 is 29 hours, the distribution coefficient is 22.5 l / kg.

In patients with impaired liver function, T1 / 2 increases to 37 hours, the concentration of metabolites in the blood serum is higher than in young patients with normal liver function. The antihistamine effect can persist for 96 hours.

ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ Hello everyone to everyone! ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ

Who would have thought that in my years I would be scribbling reviews for sedatives. No, don’t think that I’m very emotional. It's just that I am a person EXTREMELY rational and consistent, any little thing in the spirit of “BOTH, SOMETHING CHANGED CHANGES” takes me out of my rut and makes me nervous, wind up and think through thousands of solutions to the problem in advance. I won’t say that I’m sitting in a corner and bursting with tears of fuel (that’s something, but I never do it), but in “standby mode” I often spoil my nerves. I don’t really want to drink the Pustyrnik, so when I was prescribed atarax, I did not really resist and acquired the treasured pack

By the way, judging by the reviews, this drug used to be sold over-the-counter, now it’s more complicated and you can buy it prescription only.

Enough of the lyrics, let's get to the specifics.

Atarax Nervous System Treatment

Where can one buy.

Sold at any a pharmacy.

Price atarax.

About 280-300 rublesdepends on the point of sale.

Appearance.

Here is such a regular package without any frills.

Inside there is an instruction that I photographed for you. But it’s better not to peer, anyway I’ll chew all the most important information below)

Pills.

Very small, are in blisters.

Well, just unrealistic tiny creatures, I even had to take pictures with a macro lens so that you can estimate the size)

And now, let’s take a look at the main points.

Indications for use.

- anxiety(including generalized anxiety, adaptation disorders), psychomotor agitation, a feeling of internal tension, increased irritability in neurological, mental and somatic diseases, chronic alcoholism;
- withdrawal syndrome in chronic alcoholismaccompanied by psychomotor agitation;
- as a sedative during sedation;
- skin itch  (as symptomatic therapy).

Well, alcoholism from me (and hopefully from you)far away, itchy skin too, but here feeling of anxiety and tension  - Yes, it happens. That's why a neurologist wrote me a prescription in the spirit: "Well, drink, it won’t hurt you."

From the description of the testimony I do   conclusion:  call this medicine "dangerous, heavy trunk"it’s not worth it, it’s clearly not super-strong and if a doctor prescribes it, then you shouldn’t be afraid of the reception.

Contraindications

Naturally, they are.

- porphyria;
- pregnancy;
- childbirth;
- lactation
(breastfeeding);
- increased sensitivity to any of the components of the drug, cetirizine and other piperazine derivatives, aminophylline or ethylenediamine.
Atarax tablets are not recommended for patients with hereditary galactose intoleranceas well as glucose malabsorption  and galactose, because the composition of the tablets includes lactose.
WITH caution  the drug should be prescribed for myasthenia gravis, prostatic hyperplasia with clinical manifestations, difficulty urinating, constipation, with increased intraocular pressure, dementia, a tendency to convulsive seizures, with a predisposition to the development of arrhythmia, while the use of drugs with arrhythmogenic effects, while the use of drugs depressing central nervous system, MAO inhibitors or anticholinergics.

Mode of application.

Scientific abstruse:

For symptomatic treatment of pruritus in children aged 12 months to 6 years  the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 1-2.5 mg / kg body weight in several doses; children over 6 years old  - in a dose of 1-2 mg / kg / day in several doses.

Adults for the symptomatic treatment of anxiety  prescribed in a dose of 25-100 mg / day in several doses throughout the day or at night. The average dose is 50 mg / day (12.5 mg in the morning, 12.5 mg in the afternoon and 25 mg at night). If necessary, the dose can be increased to 300 mg / day.

For symptomatic treatment of pruritus  the initial dose is 25 mg, if necessary, the dose can be increased 4 times (25 mg 4 times / day).

In your own words:

In general, the doctor prescribes the dosage individually. He told me to drink 1/2 tablet in the morning first, then 1/2 tablet in the afternoon, the whole evening.  So drink   3 daysand then start drinking   one in the morning and the second in the evening.

If you standard adult, then the dosage will be as follows:

But, I repeat, all the same, the reception scheme is individual and should determined by a doctor.

Nothing is said about drinking / eating, but according to my observations, the drug didn’t take it with food or on an empty stomach.

The maximum daily dose.

By the way, if you think that atarax can be "jammed" by a pack a day, and in general, the more the better, then you are very mistaken, the maximum daily dose is determined and indicated:

The maximum single dose should not exceed 200 mg, the maximum daily dose is not more than 300 mg.

Atarax compatibility with other medicines.

Is it possible to use atarax with other drugs? This is a complex issue, and clearly requires consultation with a specialist. The instructions also indicate:

Atarax potentiates the action of drugs that depress the central nervous system, such as opioid analgesics, barbiturates, tranquilizers, hypnotics, ethanol (which requires dose adjustment with the simultaneous administration of these drugs and Atarax).
Atarax with simultaneous use reduces the pressor effect of epinephrine and the anticonvulsant activity of phenytoin, and also inhibits the action of betahistine and cholinesterase inhibitors.

Therefore, if you are using something additionally, then it is better to whisper with a doctor before this, so as not to tumble down in your entrance to a puddle, puzzled by a neighboring dog.

Effect.

I read reviews, wow, waiting for miracles! And got zilch, unfortunately. The first week I drank atarax, not feeling any changes. Cumulative effect? No matter how:

Atarax is absorbed into the digestive tract and quickly enters the bloodstream. The highest plasma concentration is observed 2 hours after taking the tablets.

Therefore, if there is an effect, then it is. And after 2 hours it should already be noticeable. Must, but not required)

I drank the course exactly 25 days  (two packs)  and didn’t get absolutely NOTHING.

  • Feeling of anxiety  - as it was, it remains. I will not say that the situations were very stressful and difficult, the usual everyday banality, but the drug atarax did not help me at all. As there was this state of anxiety in the chest, it remained. The feeling of nasty gravity also did not go away. Apparently, it decided that I had a good friend with them and should not leave me.
  • Irritability- I admit frankly, this is probably the main reason why I started taking atarax. I’m already a hellish choleric, and here I was ready to turn on the Hulk mod in the spirit: “BREAK CRUSHING”. Did it go away after taking the pills? Not. Even not very strong afobazole in this regard turned out to be more effective for me.

The only thing I can note is that I became dream dreams.  And colorful, bright, I didn’t even want to wake up. But drink pills for dreams? Her ...

Tension, self-winding, etc., etc. also remained in place.

“Before” and “After”, if it’s just very short.

Side effect.

From the side, I noticed only dry mouth, because of which I began to drink water as a young and zealous goose. So much for the plus - you’ll drink more water! Everything else remains the same.

The cancellation syndrome, too, thank God, was not.

Analogs of atarax.

At the moment, I can allocate several funds that personally seemed more effective to me:

  • Novo-passit potion (the pills turned out to be nonsense in general, but the syrup helped very well),
  • Afobazole (rather weak, but was able to partially remove all of the above symptoms),
  • Normal sleep, good cupcake and great food. But this is purely my option already)

This is my personal IMHO and what came up to me)

Total.

Atarax did not impress me. In terms of nervousness and anxiety, he did not decide anything, the state did not change in a month. Therefore, for me, these pills were an absolutely useless waste of money, I do not recommend buying it.
